The Robert Trent Jones Trail has one in Dothan IIRC.
Is the beach really two hours away? I thought it was more like 1.5 hours. Either way, not too bad.

You're just downwind of the Barn. Quality of life is therefore affected. Not much there.

Lived there until I was 18. My parents just moved away from there 4 or 5 years ago.
It wasn't a bad place to live, but it sucked not being near a interstate. It is about 80 or 90 miles to Panama City Beach. As far as golf courses there was the Robert Trent Jones course which was nice. There was also the Olympia Spa course, but I think it is called something else now. Those were the main two in Dothan. There might be more now. Population in the city is probably around 60 to 70k. I enjoyed growing up there. Shopping isn't bad, but just don't try to compare it to a big city although it was pretty good for a smaller city.

Dothan is it down there. You have to go to Montgomery (about 100 miles away) to find a bigger city.

Same here. Great great memories of playing in the Future Masters in the late 80s/early 90s. It's amazing looking back how many current and recent PGA Tour members regularly played in the Future Masters. Dothan Country Club has been outgrown by modern technology but I have very fond memories of that course.
As for Dothan, like most relatively small cities in the South there isn't much of a singles scene for someone out of college or middle aged but there is absolutely nothing wrong with Dothan for a married couple (especially one with children). Dothan did produce a disproportionately high % of hotties from what I remember. For a city of 65,000, there seemed to be a lot of them at both Alabama and Auburn.

Dothan's main road is a circle. Great if you don't know where you're going and get lost. Went to a wedding there at a small winery-it was pretty decent (the winery, wasn't really impressed by anything else).
