I typically would pull for the SEC team to win, but all these Arky fans have gotten out of control. They need a little humility.

I don't recall anyone from the flagship requesting your fandom.

This is the only time of year you should pull for your're hated conference rival.

I'm pulling for Arkansas. Good luck to all of the SEC teams this bowl season.

I really don't understand why this is such an issue for so many people. This isn't directed at the OP because a similar thread will come up 145 more times between today and the Oregon-Auburn game.

If I pull for Arkansas and they win , do you think Petrino in the post game presser will say, "you know,it looked bleak at the start of the fourth qtr, but I knew good ol' I-59 Tiger was pulling for us. The boys fed off that."

Football recruiting in the SEC is intense, almost too intense and not real gentlemenly. Bowl wins and rankings are used against rival schools. Its almost to another SEC team's advantange for a rival school to lose their game.

SEC football is king. It's not even close. The domination of the SEC rivals what UCLA did in college basketball from '67-'73. The rest of the world knows its place. No other team will be 'harmed' "next year" by what happens to another team this bowl season.

Basketball is more dicey. Kentucky and Tennessee and Florida (mainly because of Pearl and Donovan) get lots of attention and some favoritism to a degree but to paraphrase the great philosopher Patrick F. Dye, the rest of the league is "scratchin' and clawin' just tryin' to make the tournament". If you like college basketball it does help the rest of the league when an SEC member makes a nice run, like UT did last Spring. LSU winning the '09 title and being seeded 8 really said the SEC sucks.

Football ? Screw 'em.

I am hoping for an LSU win over Aggy and hope you root for or against us as you see fit.

This is true as well. However, if you want to knock them down a peg, then we should beat them on the field; not lose to them and then hope a Big 10 team does.

Arkansas. I lived there for years and really like the place. Loads of great people, too. As for the Hog smartasses on this board, I don't give a frick, I don't pay much attention to 'em. There's plenty of good Pig People out there too. Plus, I figure Arkansas beating Ohio St. will set the stage for seeing if Arky is really the next Flavor of the Month in college football—2011's Auburn so to speak. That'll keep things interesting.

Based on what I'm reading from some Hog fans, I'm calling it 49-7 Arky. At halftime. Final score: Arky 73, Ohio St. 14.
