Maybe it's just wishful thinking. I'm ready for a change. I think Miles' best days are behind him. But I also thought Spurrier would fail at South Carolina.
I, for the life of me, cannot understand why Les Miles left Jordan Jefferson in the National Championship game. I don't understand what could have been more wrong with J. Lee in the game. What's the difference in losing 21-0 or 35-0?

I, for the life of me, cannot understand why Les Miles left Anthony Jennings in the game . I'm not head coach, but I felt like there were multiple times when Jennings missed wide open receivers. Did the coaches not notice this?

I'm not basing my opinion on Harris' performance late in the Moo State game. I wouldn't care if he started Hunter at QB. Just try something else because what you're doing right now is not working.

With that said, I know we have sustained a powerful team for many years under Miles. But I seriously question Miles' ability to lead this team. Lining up and running against an 8 man front until the opposing team is worn down will work on teams with lesser talent and depth, but against the upper tier teams, that game plan will result in a lot of 3 and outs.

There have been numerous bone headed decisions by Miles in his tenure at LSU. People just say "That's just the mad hatter", and over look those decisions. At what point do these decisions become detrimental to the success of the team.

I feel like his conservative play call, and predictable game plan, and bone headed decisions have cost LSU several games. I'm not sure we can do better than Miles right now, but I think it's time to start testing the waters.

I have a little prediction. I think Michigan fires Brady Hoche this year. I feel like, if that position comes available, Miles takes the job.
I'm just wondering if the offensive coordinator and QB coach, and receiver coach are in agreement with the decision to leave Jennings in the game so long...too long. As was the case with Jefferson in 2011.

Did Miles just dictate such a decision?
Prolly good advice.

She's been a Tiger fan all of her life. She probably knows as much as I do about football, but more so the Tigers.

I'm just so proud of her. I can't really put it into words.
My daughter, a senior at LSU suprised me with tickets yesterday. No pics.

I shall be inebriated all day Saturday, and hopefully into Sunday.

One of the proudest moments in my life was when she chose LSU. Now I'll get to stand in Tiger stadium with her...Holy shite!

Are you serious? Your a fricking tard.

I know what I think you simpleton, I was asking what other people think.

We were down 24-7 early in the second half. Instead of hanging our heads, we fought back and rallied to win. That's huge for our confidence, and it's an experience that I'm very grateful our team has.

Well said.

Do you think that gives us a decided edge against Moo State so early in the season?

If it were week 7, I would say probably, but I'm not so sure about week 4.

If you get the W, in what way can you possibly say we shouldn't have

Well for starters, how about the injury to Ethan Pocic? I know that injuries can happen in any game.

Secondly, scheduling the game would have to happen before we won the game in case you weren't aware of that. Which is why I asked the question in the first place.

I didn't ask should we have scheduled the game, I asked if LSU were a better team because we played the game.
Just wondering if that game will benefit us enough to make a difference in two weeks versus Moo State.

In the long run, with the playoff committee, we should get the nod before a team that played three cupcakes over the same period, but I can't see where it would make any significant difference in the actual play of the team to warrant scheduling that game.

I don't know whether to facedesk or laugh hysterically. Auburn couldn't do shite regardless of TOs and most of their yards were garbage time. Gimmick offenses are worthless against chavis/LSU. If you'd have paid attention to the past 2-3 years you'd know.

Seriously? You're the one who didn't watch the game. Twice in the third quarter, LSU was only up by 14. The touchdown at the beginning of the fourth quarter made is 35-14. Auburn fumbled on their first two possesions, and an interception on their fourth possession. Hell, it was 21-0 early in the second quarter because Auburn turned the ball over 3 out of their first four possessions. Afte that, they actually outgained us.

I'm not saying SH will beat us, I'm simply stating that they might pose some problems if our defensive doesn't play assignment football.

This is a simple discussion about not overlooking an opponent, but you want to turn it into a debate over my understanding and comprehension of football. Meanwhile you have no idea about what your are talking.

Putting a mass murderer on the street is worth it, to make the racists among blacks feel good? Wow. I mean. . . frick, bro.

I was hoping I misunderstood his sentiment, but it appears I did not. But that statement is indicative of the majority of the black populous. I don't mean to generalize because there are likely a large number of black people who do not feel that way. But we only see the ones that do feel that way because they are the ones in the news.

No, it was a symbolic victory over the heavy handed treatment the LAPD in the past. It was probably worth him being set free to move the city forward. LAPD has always had a terrible reputation for planting evidence, racial profiling and unethical behavior.

So you're saying that it was ok for two people to die to further race relations, and the relationship between blacks and the LAPD?

What I just can't seem to figure is why is it that the "black" ( or other) community don't just do the right thing, be upstanding, honest citizens and therefore not put themselves in this position of alleged dis-apprpropriate treatment? Why aspire to alwayes be the victim.

I want to revisit this topic.

I think you said it a little better than I. That was my ultimate point. I define integrity as doing the right thing just because its the right thing to do.

My further sentiment is that it was ok for OJ to murder two people because there were slaves 150 years ago. What sense does that make?

And I wasn't talking about the verdict, I was talking about the reality that OJ killed two people. Maybe the case was poorly managed by the police, but that doesn't change the fact that he was guilty. Yes slavery was an atrocity, but that doesn't give black people the right to murder at will.

Whats more, is that had he been found guily, there would have been riots in the streets of LA.

This just HAS to be a troll. I can't imagine a team in a worse position than Sam Houston is in. Seriously, Les Miles is probably gleeful right now. Instead of having to find a way to motivate his team, he has a ton of players (O-line, running backs minus Hilliard, defensive front 7) who are angry and embarrassed by the way they played; and yet the team gained a lot of confidence by rallying versus a ranked team. I think we're going to see a massacre of epic proportions. Consider- we should see a good bit of the starters, trying to establish a better flow than they showed in game 1. They likely will play longer than you normally would see in a matchup like this. And once the backups come in, remember they will be guys like Harris at QB, Fournette and/or Magee at RB, possibly Dupre at WR (don't know how his injury is)... guys also wanting to prove game one was a fluke. And yet, there will be confidence after the rally, too. Not arrogance, but a quiet sense that they are better than the opponent as long as they play as hard as they can. Wont be any hesitation or doubt, they shook that off game one.

I agree, but LSU is a very young team across the board. Just like it's impossible for me to convince some of you that this might be a competitive game, its almost impossible to convince very young players that the game could be competitive. I didn't say we would lose the game, but over-looking this team would be a mistake.
You guys just don't get it. Sam Houston has been in the FBS championship game like 3 of the last four years. The only reason they haven't been able to win a championship is because they couldn't get by North Dakota State.

I'm just saying they will not roll over.
quote:

This really shows that you don't follow College football...Now, they are loaded with Offensive talent, and could give LSU fits, but its just not a Historic statement..

You just couldn't make a statement without attacking my football IQ. I shall submit the following so you will shut the hell up...

Sam houston runs an offense similar to Auburns. Yes we beat Auburn last year rather handily right? But Auburn ran for 213 rushing yards in that game. We won it so handily because of early turnovers and miscues by Auburn. Their total yardage was over 400 yards.

They run a read option offense, which will require the defense to be very disciplined, which we haven't been for two years. With the youth of LSU, one can expect some players being out of position simply because of their will to make a big play. SH employs a ton of mis-direction, which also requires lane awareness and assignment discipline. With a scrambling QB, if we get out of position he can house it.

You sir owe me one new hat.
I hope the team is not over looking this Sam Houston team. They are loaded. They are fast. And they will be motivated. They run an offensive scheme that historically gives LSU problems. With our inability to stop the run against Wisconsin, I suspect LSU will be caught off guard by Sam Houston's team tenacity.

We are very young, and this is the type of game that young players think they can win by simply showing up. Couple that with the fact that a win against LSU would propel Sam Houston to new heights, the same way App State's win against Meechigan propeled them a few years ago, and you have a recipe for an upset of monumental proportions.

I know you guys will think I'm crazy, but we were down big to Troy in '08 (I think it was '08) before J Lee went all Peyton Manning on a bitch. No matter what some of you might think, we are not immune to defeat from a lesser opponent.

I'm just saying looking at this game as a tune-up game could be disastrous for this team.

Fire Away!!!!

The fact that you had already made up your mind about him after only making 1 start was kinda silly. At least you apparently realize that though.

I think it was just the fear of knowing that we were losing one of the best QB's ever at LSU, and he was being replaced by a very young, un-tested player. Like I said before, I just don't want to have to re-live the JJ era.
I might have jumped the gun a little in judging Jennings ability to play quarterback for LSU. I guess my assumptions were based on the Iowa game last year. After watching the Wisconsin game again today, I think the coaches held him back a lot in the Iowa game.

On Saturday night he was very accurate with the majority of his throws. Yes, he doesn't throw the screen well, but beyond that his throws were very good passes.

I assumed after the Iowa game that he was going to be just like Jordan Jefferson. What I saw was that JJ only threw the ball when the receiver was open. I saw Jennings performance against Iowa and it looked like he was doing the same as JJ. But against Iowa, he was throwing to where the receiver was going, not to where he is at that moment.

In my mind, what makes a good QB, is his ability to anticipate when a receiver will be open. Mettenberger was tremendous at "throwing receivers open". Jennings showed that same attribute against Wisconsin. There was one throw in the third quarter where he hit Dural in stride across the middle for a big gain. Jennings threw a tight spiral, and it was delivered in such a way that Dural didn't have to break stride

He throws a great ball, very tight spiral which makes it easier to catch the ball. His throwing motion reminds me of Warren Moons throwing motion. He's very accurate with the long ball, which helps take defenders away from the line of scrimmage.

I'm excited about what he brings to the table. I know it was just one game, but his performance gives me hope that we won't have to re-live 2008.
