Three names at the top of the list

This is what the Florida buzz is. The same names keep coming up. Interesting stuff.
Here it is:
Stoops
Petrino
Sumlin
I'm guessing it will be Sumlin. I think that is a good hire. Cowherd is full of it, or thinking it was Petrino. No way Stoops leaves Norman. Petrino? I just don't don't see him as a Florida guy, and goodness, he would do the same thing to us- lie and leave.

It would be the smartest thing UF could do (to get Petrino). He can win without Tebow. Seemed to be a bit of a task for Urban.

what's the average Gator fan's wish list? Is Petrino at or near the top? When he was not being seriously talked about as your possible next coach, I don't recall very many Gator fans complimenting him on his coaching ability or his winning personality. Do those opinions soften as you ponder the possibilities of him being on your sideline? Or does he still rub many of you the wrong way, and you would prefer to have someone more approachable (who didn't also carry baggage of a bad reputation)?

Cowherd said it was a "big boy" coach, which would rule out Sumlin. OC at oklahoma and head coach at houston isn't exactly big boy status.

Sumlin can't possibly be the best Florida can do.
As for Petrino and his reputation for leaving, where's he gonna go? Just like with Saban at Alabama, you don't leave Florida for another college job. So that leaves the NFL. I wouldn't be shocked if Saban someday went back to the NFL but I would be surprised if Petrino did, primarily because who would hire him? Saban may have lied to the press but Petrino quit on his team during the season.

Why would Stoops leave Oklahoma? And the Gators can do a lot better than Sumlin. He hasn't shown that he can win without Holgorsen or Briles' players. Sumlin might be a great coach down the line but he certainly hasn't proven it yet. The Gators need to contact Chris Petesen and see if he's interested. If not, Mullen and Petrino would be nice fallback options for them.
