Ranked 7th nationally.
Who knew?
I guess all those times we got arse raped on deep balls made it seem to me like our defense sucked pretty bad. Plus we didn't have much of a pass rush all year.

I seem to remember saying LSU's defense was ranked #1 only because they hadn't played RKansas yet this time last week.

Denton - As shitty as our qb play was this year, we will be better next year. When Mallet goes pro, who is your new qb? You are in trouble next year so gloat all you want now.

Lots of folks this summer said Alabama would be hard pressed to have a top 30 nationally ranked defense after losing 9 starters. This young group finished as a top ten defense. They're going to be amazing in 2011.

They just sucked on 3rd downs at critical times. They were not as good against the run as the past two seasons. Still pretty decent job. The secondary should be better. If Jesse Williams pans out then they will be #1 again.

It wasn't a great defense but there were no great defenses out there (at least in the SEC and I'm having a hard time thinking of one nationally.)
Next year it should be fairly nasty. Still not 2009 level I don't think but the best in the conference. A lot of big plays we gave up were just complete mental mistakes, that should be less of a problem next year.

The reason LSU's defense isn't #1 is because they didn't get a chance to play against the LSU offense.
Scoring D - #2 by 3.6 pts / game
Total D - #2 by 4 yds / game
Pass D - #1
Rush D - #6 mainly due to Auburn

Where are you guys getting your stats/rankings from? All I could find was the USA Today where Arkansas is sitting 36th in the country...
