So people pushing for the legality of marijuana are responsible for gun violence due to pro-marijuana people taking part in an illegal trade, even though we are pushing for it to NOT be illegal? Seriously alahunter? How am I supposed to take you serious when you say things like that?

Yeah, I know. She has to actually appear in court for this, instead of just being able to go to the police department or courthouse and handle it.

Why? I do it all the time and no one ever knows about it.

You made some very good points. I do not understand why anyone would think it's a big deal to carry a pistol in your car. Probably 50% of the ppl i know carry a pistol in their car and they've never harmed anyone. We live in the real world, not fantasy land. Ppl get mugged, car jacked, murdered, kidnapped, raped, etc. etc. every single day. This is America and you have the right to defend yourself.

You brought the marijuana comparison to the argument. Someone carrying a concealed firearm, that has never been in trouble with the law is less of a threat to society and doesn't create an instance where people are violent so that he can carry. Drug users on the other hand, have to buy it illegally, which creates an environment that fosters violence. One is a guaranteed right under the Constitution, one is not. And whether you like it or not, illegal drugs are the cause of more gun deaths and shooting in this country many more times than a law abiding citizen carrying a concealed pistol.

I need a joint and a gun because of the direction this thread has taken.

If you get a joint, you won't need a gun cuz all will be utopia then.

It just seems unnecessary. I don't know you, you could be some crazy motherfricker with a happy trigger finger. I don't automatically assume that "oh, that's just a guy that is protecting himself and others" , I think "uhh, we are in a mall, and that motherfricker has a 9 on his hip. Is he crazy? Is he going to open up on everyone? I don't know." That is why it makes me uncomfortable.

Ok.. going to your pot argument.. I could be walking in the mall and see this guy high as a kite, I might think, this guy doesn't have control of himself and could go nuts and hurt a kid soon. That makes me uncomfortable. So does that now mean pot should remain illegal?

I don't get your hesitance in understanding why people carry a gun with them at all times. All the guns I have are used specifically for hunting and home protection. I never carry. But what good does the gun do you in your car, in the glovebox? It would be as worthless as having an unloaded gun IMO.
My boss is a former judge who carries a pocket pistol with him everywhere. He prevented he and his wife from an attempted robbery in Downtown Nashville (not shady) by simply pulling it out of his pocket. Who knows whart would have happened had it been in his car.

How is it the Bammers never get in trouble at school, then 95% of them seem to get arrested when they leave Tuscaloosa.

Your logic is dumb. Your argument was that people who are for the legalization of marijuana are indirectly responsible for gun violence because of the illegal enviroment that they are fostering. But they are trying to make it legal to where it won't foster violence. So, realistically, it is the U.S. government that is fostering drug violence. Also, my green comes from out west where it is legal to have grow houses. No violence is involved, so your argument is pretty flat anyway.

Great question. I especially like how you used the incontrovertible fact that 95% of former Bama players have been arrested after leaving school.
Jeez, what an idiot...

I would say it's a conspiracy but my fiancee went to Bama and whenever I went to visit her it seemed like the Tuscaloosa PD had a quota of college kids they had to frick with every night.

Then you are just paranoid as hell, and ignorant to the affects of marijuana. That is your personal problem. Go read a book, or smoke a joint and see what it really does to you.

You are comparing a plant that people smoke to cool them down, to a deadly weapon. You have to be fricking with me, right?

People who participate in taking illegal drugs, ARE indirectly responsible for the gun violence that the drug trade has. The demand to supply their needs fuels the fire to produce the drugs, the sale and eventual violence that is inherent to the drug trade. That's not that hard to figure out. Illegal drugs are probably the single most and largest reason for gun violence in the U.S. than anything else or even all others combined.

Doing an illegal act, to make it legal, does not help reduce the violence in it being provided.. lol

Really? No violence involved at all? There couldn't be a turf war on where it's brought in? No chance that rival factions couldn't be waging violence against each other to provide that source to you? Your arguments have so many holes in them it's not even funny. Keep turning a blind eye.

Just curious, I bought a stun gun-air tasor from a military friend for home & car protection. Do I need a permit for it?

Maybe people need to not be so paranoid and cynical. I , personally, will take my chances in everyday life without a gun. No one I know carries a gun casually around with them. It is legal, so I am not that worried about it, as it does not seem to be a problem. If someone is going to do something violent and malicious with a gun, then a law is not going to keep them from doing so. I don't mind people carrying around guns if they have a license. I was just unaware that so many people carry around guns casually. That is like the 10th time I have stated that.

I'm sure you wouldn't mind me having a gun if someone who was actually crazy opened up on everyone.
