Its not like having a bye or playing some Sun Belt or 1-AA school is any different. The problem is that the SEC continues to leave the possibility for either for the majority of teams before they play Alabama. Like I said earlier, Alabama for the third straight year is having to play 5 SEC games in five weeks. They don't have the option of playin some weak OOC game or having a bye before those games. However, the SEC did not schedule a conference game for 6 teams the weak before they play Alabama, giving them the option for a bye.

I agree that it's BS, but it something that should be changed for the 2011 season. Schedules have been set, fan's have spent travel money, etc.

The SEC should look into it from here on out, but moving other teams schedule around this year is complete BS.

As I've said plenty of times, that's exactly what Mal Moore asked to happen when he brought attention to it. I highly doubt anything changes for this year, but Alabama didn't ask for that to happen. Moore asked that it be looked into so the trend doesn't continue.

Who has spent money already?

I've already made plans for the Tenn and LSU game this year.

Hotel rooms 'n shite.

But I know some people who have had to already submit vacation days for time off.

I explained this fully in another thread the last time this came up.

The SEC has 50% of the say, the schools the other 50%.

Hypothetical situation

Team 1- West Schedule

There are restrictions on all schedules.

No team can have a bye the week prior to the SECCG. Florida got that rule made after whining about AU and UA scheduled the Iron Bowl a week early to give them a bye if they made the SECCG.

No team can play (I think it is 3, but not certian) 3 consecutive conference road games.

SEC sets SEC West Team 1's conference schedule as such. Note, i am not getting into the minutae of home and away games.

Week
1-OPEN
2-SEC game-West-team 2
3-OPEN
4-SEC game-East-rotating game 1
5-SEC game-West-Team 3
6-SEC game-East rotating game 2
7-OPEN
8-SEC game-East-permanent game
9-SEC game-West-Team 4
10-SEC game-West-team 5
11-OPEN
12-SEC game-West-team 6

SEC West Team 1 has Weeks 1, 3, 7, and 11 to use for 3 OOC games and the remaining week is their bye week.

West team 1 can't schedule a bye before-
-SEC game-West-Team 3
-SEC game-East rotating game 2
-SEC game-West-Team 4
-SEC game-West-team 5

West team 1 CAN schedule a bye before-
-SEC game-West-team 2
-SEC game-East-rotating game 1
-SEC game-East-permanent game
-SEC game-West-team 6

So - 50%/50%.

The SEC can make schedules so that each team only has the possibility of open weekends prior to 3 or 4 of their conference games.

This is how it works.

do you really want to have that urinating match again? Its rather tired. Whining is whining The OP was whining about whining.

Can you tell me where asking why this is done for Alabama when LSU had to deal with a similar albeit not as bad problem last year. No offense to other SEC schools but playing Bama and Florida after a bye week far worse than any other combo in the league right now.

I don't see anything 'similar' between 6 byes and 2 byes. 75% isn't in the same ballpark as 25%.

I couldn't care either way. But all you pussies acting like having 6 teams come off a bye in one season isn't a big deal must have shite for brains.

Should they go and change the schedules right now? Probably not. Is it unfair to Bama that so many teams get breaks before the game? Probably so.

Everyone just quit bitching. If they do it they do it and if they don't, then they don't. Are all of you just throwing hissy fits because you won't get your precious 2 weeks of prep before you face Bama?

Oh noes...we may have to face Bama with only a week of preparations! We're dooooomed!!! Let's raise hell about it and call it unfair!!!
