Pinceton has 28.
Auburn has 45. The AUCatfish poll has awarded Auburn the National Championship every year since his birth.

1934 was awarded by Dunkel, Williamson, and Football Thesarus according to my records. From what I can gather Dunkel and Williamson awarded those in 1934.
Ok. Noted. But 1934 was an undefeated and untied Rose Bowl team. We had an undefeated and untied Rose Bowl team in 1925 and 1930. I know there weren't any NCs really awarded back then, but alot of teams that won the Rose Bowl back then claim titles to those years. I see what you are saying, but at the same time I still think those other teams deserve recognition as well

Can you give us 1941?
Absolutely...you also get 1947, 1956, 1964 and 2021.

Great, I'd love to get a 2021 tshirt.

I'm just happy that we've had enough history to debate in a 7 page thread.
No matter how many MNC trophies you take away, we'll still have more than anyone else in the SEC... more SEC titles, more bowl wins, more 10+ win seasons, and a winning record vs all other SEC teams.
Life is good

Its gonna be funny watching em spin the 2009 national championship. 20 years from now, they'll say the bcs and ap were full of shite for awarding it to bama.

I don't think anybody with half a brain would do that. Bama wins out, they are legitimately National Champs, no question. My question is when did Bama stop claiming only 6 National titles and start claiming 12? I realize the 92 NC would make 7 and then, all of the sudden, there is all this got 12 nonsense.

I am sure many of the older Bama fans will remember these shirts, I certainly do.

But, but, but, we should definitely get one for 1966.

the bottom line is alabama is the only school to retroactively claim national titles. That right there should make you ashamed. A school with such tradition doesn't need to retroactively claim titles. It should be beneath you. Every other fanbase just laughs at you guys when you people say" we got 12 title, how many do you have." no you really have six that you've won and the others are straight bullshite. Just the fact that you claim 41 as a title lets everyone know that you claim false titles. And dont give me the undefeated rosebowl shite. If thats the case then boise state should claim the last two yrs. I'm syre 20 years from now alabama wiil retroactively claim last year and this year as titles.

I missed where Boise State went undefeated, went to the Rose Bowl, the only bowl in the country, and won it. Wow.

its not that they went to the rosebowl. Thwy went undefeated and won their bowl game. And no every team that went undefeated and won a rosebowl didn't claim a title. Still bama is the only team to retroactively claim titles. Period. You have so much tradition and "put" southern football on the map then why claim false titles. Its delusion like this that makes other schools hate your fanbase. As if football wouldn't be as important in the south if bama wouldn't have cheated for the last century. 92- won title and went on probation.99- won title and went on probation. You've won 2 sec titles since 81 and ans then immediately went on probation. If you're gonna claim to have made football in the south relevant then claim that you are also the poster child for cheating in southern football.

As the 1925 Rose Bowl Champions.

Exactly, because they were awarded the MNC immediately following the season. Not in 2016

My sycophant family members and I have extremely heated discussions about this during every holiday season. They always obfuscate the point at issue by claiming that other teams claim national titles that are questionable. THAT POINT IS ENTIRELY IRRELEVANT TO THE DISCUSSION.
The claimed national titles versus the unclaimed national title argument doesn't work, because it doesn't even out in the end.
To be honest, no one would really give a rats arse about how many national titles Bama won if Bama fans would not flaunt their "national titles" in the face of their opponents.
The modern era of football does not owe any debt of gratitude to Bama. Football in the south is not dependent on Bama's success. The SEC does not owe any debt of gratitude to Bama. Bama did not "steal" Nick Saban from LSU. Bama will never run through college football like they did in the 1960s.
Before you say I'm obfuscating the issue, please consider that I'm attempting to help Bama fans. When Bama sucked, which has been for the majority of this century, I cheered for Bama in every game except the LSU/Bama game. I like Bama. However, the "Got Twelve", "Got Saban", and any other proclamations of how great your program truly is relative to other programs in the nation are desperate, and they result in an extreme and unhealthy hate for your university.
Right now, Bama is the child prodigy who turned to drugs when everyone caught up to him, and the only rebuttal he has is that at one time, he was so much better than you. I really hate that kid.
