a receiver can't go out of bounds and then come back in and be the first to touch it
regardless of whether he touched it first, he was still in the air when he touched it. therefore, he was in bounds

It was VERY close. Maybe he was in the air and maybe he wasn't. It depends on when you award possession to Peterson. My point is, the call wasn't nearly as bad as everyone is trying to make out.

Good point, and you're correct. Hadn't seen that angle, yet.
I watched it from another angle, though. And while he was in the air when he first touched it, it looked like he was still touching it when his right foot landed out of bounds. It was really close.

This.
So, yes, it does matter when Peterson was awarded possession.

B
The ref would have explained the call if it was not overturned because JJones was out of bounds and touched the ball; especially since it was blatantly obvious that it was picked and would be questioned. The only conceivable reason for the call was that every angle wasn’t reviewed, which makes no sense.

I'm believing it because I watched the damn replay 10 times. It happened. I said the call was very close. It's LSU fans who won't believe anything except they were cheated.

i've seen the replay 100 times and i think it was a pick

however, our chance of making a comeback were greatly diminished by that call

This is what I'm referring to when I say, "I saw it":

It's not true because I said it, it's true because it happened. That doesn't mean it was or was not a pick, but it does mean that it was questionable.

I think the ref was blocked an never saw the play and I think the replay guy definitely blew it. I would be hard pressed to intelligently argue the refs favor Bama based solely on 1 game. But, look at all the big games Bama has won the last 2 years and the close calls for Bama. First I can recall offhand was Ole Miss last year. Bama seems to consistently lead the league in least penalties AND in most penalties against opponents. That's pretty dang freaky at best.
But, I think it is unfair to dwell too long on the penalties. LSU and most schools know going in that you have to beat Bama solidly to win at BD. Bama played a VERY good game and looked good after the bye. No one knows if LSU would have won if the bad calls had not happened.

False. That's just other fans talking.
Here's the facts:
Penalties
Bama 6th with 51. That's right in the middle of the pack.
Penalties for opponents
Bama 5th with 60.

Please Teague, links with actual facts are very annoying/confusing on this board.
