"Vacated" wins do not equate to losses...

A "vacated" win is not a "forfeited" game.
Vacate does not mean forfeit. The teams that lost to Alabama will still have a loss, but Alabama will not count the wins as a win. It will be treated, for purposes of Alabama's record, as if no game were played at all. In other words, assuming 5 of the 7 wins in 2007 are vacated, then Alabama's record will be 2-6 as far as the NCAA is concerned.

Only loser schools count games that they lost on the field and were later "forfeited" as wins anyway.

Who is counting them? Looks like Bama now has the NCAA in its back pocket

So does this include the 2007 Bama-OM game that is still in progress with OM having the ball on the 2 with 7 seconds left on the clock?
just asking?
just asking?

The fact that Bama didn't lose any scholarships is the only thing that matters. I wouldn't even bother with the "vacated vs. forfeit" debate - it's all bullshite.

Good question, I don't know the answer to that. But I think that game may be included.

Shula was 6-7 in 2007. I think most, if not all, of those 6 wins may be vacated. I say that because I think that's about the time that some of the football players got books.

doesn't matter, just screwing with you guys.
Vacated wins mean absolutely jack in the grand scheme of things.
That's what pisses me off about the NCAA, OM had a dumbass HC who ran off half the team during his tenure, he's gone and now we lose 3 schollies....Bama athletes massively abuse their scholarship benefits and they get a slap on the wrist.
the NCAA needs to be carpet bombed. Most totally inept group in America.

Vacating these wins makes no sense. The university had no idea that the players had obtained these textbooks improperly until mid-season 2007. They suspended the players right away when they found out.
I understand the premise for the forfeiture of games under Stallings because from what I had heard the university did not really perform due dilligence on the Antonio Langham issue before the 1993 season.
ETA: Although, I don't personally count the forfeit in 1993 as a win for State. We lost on the field where it really matters. We had the same thing happen to us at State in 1976 and 1977.

I have watched SEC football for over 35 years and my opinion is this. And yes I know about opinions so spare me the colorful dialogue.
Alabama has had and still has a culture of cheating with their football program. They have still not learned their lesson and most likely never will. Who knows really who did what, when and where with these books. The point is that Bama has no reason to cheat but they still do. It goes way beyond Saban's ability to control which is a shame. Cheating or winning at all costs is a CULTURE with ALABAMA football.
Forget about saying everyone does it they just don't get caught. If that is the case then you are implying that BAMA folks are not that bright because they get caught more than any school in history. I know you Bama fans don't mean that so what's the problem????
I hate the NCAA but it is about time that BAMA and all other repeat offender schools get hammered hard. They have had their chance to get clean in every area and have chosen not too.
If this was LSU I would say the same things. Aren't you Bama guys getting a little embarrassed about the constant cheating.

Yes, and by the time Gumps finish processing this data and calculate its overall impact on their historic record, I predict they will claim at least one additional national title.

They should have gotten the death penalty as a repeat offender that keeps thumbing it's nose in the air to all other member schools in the SEC and NCAA.
A spanking or slap on the wrist is silly. I would be willing to bet there are Bama insiders laughing at this very moment about how they got away with another one.

Cheated? Who cheated in this? I saw no cheating. Nothing that would help us win games and no buying players. There was no cheating.
