Alabama will definitely fall back. Only softball to prop up the next update. Baseball has fallen apart. The other spring sports are just above average usually.

Auburn should get a decent boost after Spring with baseball, men’s golf, women’s golf, and women’s tennis all highly ranked.

The Director’s Cup is what it is. But in a perfect world it would be weighted. It won’t be, but there is no way the average fan considers women’s rowing or tennis to be as important as football or basketball. But the directors cup does.

Be mighty funny if the Dores topped the Vols in the final tally.

I agree. The fact it wasn’t weighted is why Florida AD Foley decided to autocastrate the athletic department to plow the football money into nearly meaningless sports. Trying for the cup is a vanity project no one cared about except him and half a dozen other athletic directors around the country. But, those are his peers. Killing football is a small price to pay if you only value the cup.

Only three SEC schools not in the top 50....only 1 not in the top 100...Shocked Auburn is so low but not at all shocked Miss State is very low.

bill byrne was also a big proponent of it. Seeing alabama at the top is no surprise with greg there.
personally think they should just do it for the non revenue sports only, but like you say, no one but a handful of old timers really even cares.
