Believes the Moon Landings were faked. Clearly doesn’t know when microwaves or color TV’s were invented.

What a dolt.

If nothing can be presented that will convince him, better to just not argue with his foolishness.

Microwave was invented in the forties. Commercially available in the sixties.

As far as color TV:

All of them? 6 NASA manned landings and over 140 robotic missions have launched to the moon, including numerous soft landings by the Soviet Union, China, India, Japan, Israel, and Russia

Without looking it up do you know what year color televisions and microwaves were invented? What about when they became widespread in homes?

Greg McElroy was a Rhodes Scholar finalist. You can hate on Greg McElroy for several things. But being stupid is not one of them.

And for the record, more and more people believe we didn’t actually land on the moon.

We have seen how the government will straight lie to people on a global scale. We saw the two unmanned attempts to land on the moon earlier this year both fail - despite being exponentially more technically advanced than we were in 1969. No one has actually been able to see any of the discarded lunar landers from the Apollo program with a telescope, despite the fact we now have telescopes 100x more sensitive and advanced than the Hubble Space Telescope. We can see over 13 billion light years away. But we can’t see any of the junk we left on the moon.

Strange.

I certainly knew there were many TV shows broadcast in color TV in the sixties. Doesn't make a lot of sense to broadcast them in color if no one has the ability to watch in color.

Smart people believe stupid things all the time.

I would also say if your basis is techonology for not believing the moon landing, then you should be aware of what technological advances we had at the time.

It's like me saying the world is obviously flat or the sun obviously revolves around the Earth because it's apparent when I look at it. Greg wasn't even alive in the sixties but thinks he knows all about life back then for some reason.

The invention of the mocrowave took place 25 years before the moonlanding. They just couldn't make it affordable enough for most homes. Color TV was available for 10,000 at today's prices in the early fifties, but of course most could not afford it.

NASA obviously had a much larger budget than the average household.

I can speak to this...

Color TVs became widespread in homes..MId-.Late '60s for rich people... Late 60s- Early '70s for regular people.

Microwave ovens... Early '70s for rich people. Mid '70s for regular people.

I can even do VCRs if you want...

As far us McElroy's take on the technology theory... He doesn't take into account how much Sputnik shook up the US... and how hell bent they became on beating the Russians to the moon. Microwaves and Color TVs weren't the priority. Even though he was wrong about them as well.

What is more impressive than landing people on the moon in the 1960s was them taking off from the moon and landing back on Earth safely. I wonder why no other countries have landed people on the moon? Not one single time.

One question any Moon landing denier can never seem to answer is why do other countries seem to agree that the US did indeed land on the Moon? Especially the Soviets, who would have had the most to gain by debunking a fake landing story.

Sure, our government will lie to us but why are all of these other governments also lying to us?

Because it costs money and they can spend that money on other things that they think are more important. And it's likely they are right.

Offhand nope I sure wouldn't. Which is also why I wouldn't be dumb enough to talk about the subject as if I did.

Absolutely. we were in the thick of the Cold War with the Soviets and part of that war was showing capitalism to be superior and more advanced than communism. We also felt that if they were the leaders in space they may be the leaders in world dominance as that seemed the next logical step militarily after air superiority in battle.

But both the color TV and microwave had been invented decades before.

It doesn’t make him dumb to doubt the moon landings. He has reason to doubt the propaganda machine that is our government .

What makes him look dumb is when his reasons given for it are easily proven false. You would think if you were going to deny something that most of the world accepts, you'd make sure your arguments are stronger.

100% fact. I had a neighbor for years that proved it time and time again. He was an anthropologist, master of Peruvian history and his father was an ambassador to Russia and an expert on Russian political history.
One night my neighbor called in a panic with an upstairs water leak, that was flooding the downstairs living room which was decorated with rugs worth more than my house and vehicles.
Instead of shutting off the water valve, he was running around with towels trying to soak up the still flowing water.

Nothing I’ve stated is incorrect, or really even controversial.

I will now. I now don’t know whether to believe we really landed on the moon or not. I used to believe it, no questions asked. I question lots of things after “two weeks to slow the spread.” I don’t believe things just because someone says it. And screaming it louder doesn’t help, it makes many just question it more.

A lot of people have lots of questions about some of the big events of the 60s - the assassinations of JFK and RFK, Lee Harvey Oswald and Jack Ruby, the assassinations of Malcolm X snd MLK, MKULTRA, Vietnam, agent orange, DDT, etc.

The government doesn’t exactly have a spotless record telling the truth every time.
