The all time record between the 8 seed and 9 seed going into this tourney was 77-83. The 9th seed had won 52% of games. But few as badly as last night. Here are all seeds.

1 vs. 16 158-2 .988
2 vs. 15 149-11 .931
3 vs. 14 137-23 .856
4 vs. 13 127-33 .794
5 vs. 12 103-57 .644
6 vs. 11 98-62 .613
7 vs. 10. 97-62 .610
8 vs. 9 77-83 .481

How many 8 seeds get down by nearly 40 points to the 9 seed? Cause the Mike White special nearly did that.

So the committee gets it right until it's a toss up game?

There is no objective data that separates an 8 from a 9, or even a 10 and a 7. It's all subjective.

Everything falls off a cliff after 4 seeds.

I think its due to so many undeserving mid majors winning their conference tourney unexpectedly and getting matched with the 1-4 seeds.

A lot of the other teams get in outright.

The 2021 first round match-up between No. 7 Oregon and No. 10 VCU was considered a no contest due to COVID-19 protocols.

Yeah... I was noticing that too, where there's a huge deviation between that group of 3 and the 13th seed, as well as the 9th seed.

If not for the 9 seeds, the East and Midwest brackets would be spoiler-free (all other higher seeds won their games).

Only 4 double-digit seeds still remain:
10 - Texas A&M
11 - VCU, Texas
12 - High Point

You are bad with numbers, bad with words, have horrible interpersonal skills, and lack any semblance of self awareness . I feel pity for you Sidewalk.
