No two programs have hit more long balls since the start of the 2021 season then Tennessee (722) and Georgia (595).

I'll settle for a win. Any win. Using any kind of monkey ball: gorilla, chimp, spider, lemur, howler, baboon, you name it.

The two programs with the smallest fields have the most home runs? Wow

Bragging on having the most homeruns is like bragging that you got 99 yards on a football drive but threw an interception at the 1 and the other team scored.

Go look at Foley Field’s dimensions again and tell me how small it is. Yes, 314 in RF is short. But 350 to LF is the biggest dimension in the conference to a foul pole and 404 to CF is the second deepest CF in the conference. Moo State’s RF is shorter at 305 and Vandy is 315 according to ChatGPT. Foley just isn’t as small as people think.

When you play in a park that resembles the depths of a girls softball park these types of things can occur

Our dimensions are pretty close to Yankee Stadium. There are some advantaged ways to play the park and Wes has engineered the roster to do that, but we’re also seeing guys regularly clear the trees in left and deep right center and batters eye at 405+ feet, so its not jus the dimensions.
Foley sits on a sort of plateau that falls away as you head west toward the Oconee River. The field is also oriented to face west from home plate, so you tend to get a solid wind pushing east to west especially early in the season. As it heats up in April and May, Athens in general also tends to retain humidity and heat absent any strong wind due to being situated in a river valley in the foothills of the blue ridge.
All to say, the dimensions are a lazy reason to explain why the HRs are happening. Has far more to do with 1) portal allowing Wes to engineer an offense that plays to the power game and strengths of the park and 2) the location and natural geography of the area encouraging balls to carry that might die in a park like Texas or early Spring Kentucky.
