Is Don’ta Hightower Nick’s most successful player?

3 time Super Bowl champ
2 time national champ
All American
All pro
2x pro bowler
LB coach
Henry and Quintorris Lopez Jr. have had more statistical success relative to their position group but I’d argue that Hightower is the ideal Saban player in overall success and work ethic.

Maybe. But Julio and DH will be in the Hall of Fame. Don'ta really only has the Super Bowls over those two and we all know those are more about the team. Ironically Don'ta directly kept Julio from getting a ring.

Andrew Whitworth is probably up there.

Gotta count for something. You can’t praise Ray Lewis for being the head of the Ravens defense while simultaneously diminishing Hightower for doing the exact same thing in New England. Not saying you specifically are, but just as an example. Tom Brady had the benefit of having essentially someone with as least 75% of his brains on his same team on the opposite side of the ball for the last half of his career.

Hurts has to be up there when you consider Heisman finalist, SB MVP, money made, etc

You’re thinking of a different kind of hard hitter

My bad Ray Lewis
I said the same thing a few years ago to my pops and he about slapped the shite out of me. Not like I don’t know it either.

Easy mistake to make. Same team, same first name, both had pretty significant legal troubles.

I think it will be PS2 when all is said and done. Been in the league 5 years and already a 3x AllPro and has a DOPY. Dude is a machine.

Yeah he had a big part of those teams but Brady and BB won SBs without him too. It’s not Julio or Henry’s fault they didn’t win a SB. They both have excellent playoff performances. Henry is 7th all time in post season rushing yards. It’s a team performance in the end.
And Henry has been super accomplished at all levels

The fact there's like 7-8 right answers to this question is pretty cool to be honest.

When he's done, I think Derrick Henry will have a legit claim as the greatest "football player" in history.
Julio is a HOF lock...I did think he was almost guaranteed to end in the top 10 all time in receiving yards...but after he left Atlanta he fell off a cliff statistically unfortunately.
Surtain, Hightower and Fitzpatrick would round out my Saban era top 5 at the current moment in time...although Coop might could bump Fitzpatrick.
I think the lack of OL success in the league has always surprised me. Outside of Ryan Kelly there have been some decent careers, but nothing to write home about at the OL positions.

Kyle Shanahan’s dumbass play calling directly kept Julio from getting a ring.

Never understood it either. Kelly and Dickerson are the only 2 pro bowlers. Kelly is the only one that has made an All Pro team and he did it once. Booker had a solid rookie year so we’ll see. But unlike the other positions, a lack of numerous elite seasons

Coach of Atl did that, you throw to a guy 4 times in a game , he catches all 4 and you don't go his way the rest of the game?? Fireable

They were in FG range after the pass to Julio on the sideline. Run it three times, kick the FG, game is over. But they dropped back, took a sack, had to punt, and the rest is history.

He's married to an Arabian Knight, so he's got to be one of the most successful.

Robert Horry gets the same level of regard when it comes to his notoriety or lack of even though Horry and Hightower helped, were extremely key players who made key plays, their teams win championships.
Hightower tackled the rb, can't remember his name atm, at the 2 keeping him out of the endzone setting up the improbable pick by the Pat's cb. Made numerous sacks throughout his career in key situations that helped the Pat's win.
Horry was the same way, 3 ball after 3 ball...steal after steal...the guy in the playoffs was deadly.
