I guess it’s cup cake week for the SEC? Lmao.

They are all cupcakes to us.

Santa Clara is coming back for revenge, OU barely beat them today.

That depends, are we talking about LSU being the cupcake?
All joking aside, I really hope this weekend gets them out of whatever slump, bad juju or whatever.
Losing playing good baseball is one thing, but losing playing bad baseball is another.

Yall lost to UT Arlington who has exactly 3 wins on the year. Pipe down, it’s baseball.

Y’all will be fine. We’ve finally busted out of our slump, and pitching is settling in…I hope!

BigD, in keeping with ESPN+'s booked advertising package, you should also reach out to Johnson & Johnson and get your Daily Baseball Threads sponsored by CAPLYTA.

Why are Georgia and A&M playing a conference series the week before everyone else does?

Strikeouts
1 Johnson, Cameron Oklahoma 32
4 Mercurius, LJ Oklahoma 28
I wonder how many pitchers Skip Johnson (OU HC) has put in MLB and Farm clubs. He’s a pitching guru.
He took in Cam Johson a transfer from LSU with control problems a season ago. Cam still struggled last year at OU and Skip mostly shut him down middle season. This year a new improved Cam has emerged and so far so good. He’ll still need to prove it in conf play but some bb pundits say he has top MLB draft talent.
Cameron Johnson’s final line last night
5.1 IP
2 H
0 ER
2 BB
7 K
He is now 4-0 with 2.11 ERA. Most important he’s only issued 5 walks. Last year he’d do that in 2 innings and he’s pitched 4 games so far.
Cam will be important for our aspirations and although encouraging he’ll need to keep this up without too many bad outings.
Then Skip went out and got LJ Mercurius in off season. And he’s been a gem too.
LJ is 3-0 with a 0.52 ERA and should be on the mound tonight
And finally Skip is starting a true freshman as his 3rd rotation.
Cord Rager is 2-1 with an ERA of 1.80. He’s got 19 K’s to 4 walks in 15 innings.
There is so much season to go and our conf schedule is probably the hardest in SEC due to the road teams we face. Last year we went 14-16 in conf and if we can manage to sneak out 3 extra games to go 17-13, that would be a huge success. We were picked to finish 2nd to last pre season, I can’t recall but think that was an SEC coaches poll.
Here’s to a good weekend of baseball.
And thanks to bigDgator for making these threads and digging out all the schedules and times and stats. Much appreciated.
