Is it ok if Oats never plays Noah Williamson another second?

Look, he might get better one day, but FFS.

The pass he had to a basically wide open goal he missed made me walk away from the TV.

Williams is playing so tight, you couldn’t drive a 10 penny nail up his arse. He is petrified to play. Worst case of the yips I’ve ever seen.

We’re playing for March at this point, which means trying to keep people healthy. He won’t play in the NCAAT, but have to play him in regular season regardless if it costs us a game at some point.

Honestly, I don’t really want a 4 or 5 seed given the 1 seeds this year. We aren’t likely to beat Mich or AZ (or FL or prob Purdue, but they won’t be 1 seeds). I’d rather have a 3 seed or 6 seed, than a 4/5. But 6 seed means we’d have to lose some games we shouldn’t, and 3 seed means we’d probably have to win out in the regular season and make some noise in the SECT.

The announcer said last night that "Williamson has 14 secs. of playing time so far tonight, and has collected TWO fouls". I feel badly for the kid, but embarrassed for the coaches who were involved with signing him.
There's NO WAY anybody watched film of him, and made an offer.

The Patriot League is obviously a big step down from the SEC, but it's still D1 basketball and he was their POTY last season. It would be completely understandable if he was just an average bench quality player at this level, but he's essentially a walk-on in terms of contributions. I don't think a single coach anywhere in the country would watch any D1 conference's POTY and come away with the impression that he can barely play basketball.

He’s in his own head because he wanted to get Kentucky back for beating his arse last year and he was playing like a solid bench big. We’re going to need him, whatever it takes to get him passable for 10 minutes a night is all we need.

I posted this same thing on the SECr, but at this point I'd be good with Oats just telling the refs that he was only going to play with four players for a couple of minutes rather than subbing Williamson in. At least if no one is in that spot they can't brick the occasional three.

Until Taylor Bol Bowen gets back Noah has to play just to give Sherrell a rest. If Keitenn Bristow didn’t quit he could play backup 5 and would actually be good at it IMO

Now now. Bristow mom is going to tut-tut you for that even though her kid has been seen doing athletic activities but just not playing.

Do we have any idea what happened with Bristow? He had that one great game then vanished and quit afterwards?

From what I've gathered on this board, he's holding out for NIL. Pretty bold of him considering it'd be a 50-50 chance of him scoring with literally no one standing between him and the basket. Dude has next to no offensive skillset.

But again, we have no idea what the deal is with Bristow, all rumor to this point.

I'd be cool with it if he told the staff he wanted to not play this year but would definitely be back with us if he got another year, right?

We have no idea. You may very well be right.

I just don’t see Oats as the type to let him remain on the team if that were true
