Heard from multiple people at ole miss and at LSU that the relationship between Charlie Weis and Lane kiffin is not as good as lane likes to portray it !!!!! The rumor is Charlie really wanted to stay at ole miss but at the time and everyone knows this that lane went to his whole staff at ole miss and said “if you want a job you better get on the plane in an hr “ Charlie tried to hold out atleast for a little bit for ole miss his concern was job stability and at the time he was forced to make a decision nobody knew who OM coach was gonna be Charlie really wanted to chart his own path without lane stay at ole miss be the offensive coordinator not attached to lane in the end he choose to stay with lane only because he wasn’t sure he would have a job at ole Miss then Pete Golding
Was hired lsu forced him to sign a term sheet lane proceed to Presure Charlie into making a decision lsu had a comparable deal to what he was getting at ole Miss when Pete golding was hired ole miss made a very high offer and Pete was gonna stay at ole Miss then lane told lsu to spend whatever they had to spend to retain Charlie infact lsu over paid to retain Charlie ole miss moved on after waiting till after the Tulane playoff game !!!!
