But Trinidad getting a 6th year is breaking college football

I think everyone would love to see Trinidad get a second year on the big stage. Just not against their own team.

It's all stupid and ridiculous. Something has to give.

I don't care either way to be honest. I'm more so interested in just how much farther all of this is gonna go before we get some sort of major change. It seems like every week there is a different story that leaves us all asking how the frick is this really happening.

Might as well make cfb minor league football ,where they can play forever until they are called up to the bigs

That’s true but this really isn’t one of those stories. The answer is a hard five year window but the athletes have too much at stake in the current format for the ncaa to get away with that.

NCAA doesnt make any sense sometimes.

They just need to put an age cap for college athletics. Play as many years as you want, but you have to be 24 or younger. Hard cap, no exceptions and all sports included. College is for high teens to low 20s, not old arse adults.

Best solution I’ve heard.

The easiest thing to do would be to just put an age limit on it. Time is unstoppable and applies to everyone. Make it 24 years old. Put a 17 or 18 year old minimum on it.
So you didn't discover your football talent until you were 20? Who cares.
So you got sick and had to take a year off? No dice.
So you broke your arm and couldn't play for a year? Too bad.
So you spent 2 years at JUCO? I'm sorry.
So you didn't get the call up up from FBS until your sophomore year? That's unfortunate.
So you had to go be a missionary in Zambia before playing college football? Well bless your heart.

totally agree, but now that theres million$ on the line, the argument is that it's age discrimination.

Yep. The NCAA put themselves in this corner by granting some players additional years and denying others - even when the two situations were substantially similar.
If it was a blanket 5 years with no exceptions then you wouldn't have this issue.
