I went to a game at Auburn during the Barbee era. They were terrible that year. The arena was still packed.

Not as large of a fanbase but we have a high percentage of supporters per 1000 fans. Most fans have some tie to the school other than just liking the team. All fans are equal though.
When Auburn went to the final 4 they showed the game at the arena and it was at least 60 percent full. It was pretty cool even though he double dribbled.

Took the family down to Birmingham the year both Alabama and auburn both got placed in the South regional. Alabama was playing a 16 seed and the energy from bama fans was lackluster. We went to the Auburn game that night and the building was electric the whole time.

After 5 straight losing football seasons, their fans put all their hopes and energy into basketball.
Kudos for showing up, but I couldn't imagine being a student and graduating without ever even seeing a winning season from the football team.

Also the best tailgating environment in the SEC outside of LSU IMO. Alabama's is dog shite.
