Throw FAU out the window. A long list of coaches including Billy Napier, Chad Morris, Bryan Harsin, Derek Dooley, Tom Herman and Bert Bielima have proven success at prior smaller programs does not automatically equate to success in the SEC. Let’s stick to his P4 jobs - Tennessee, USC, Ole Miss.

A 67% winning percentage equates to 8-4. Lane Kiffin has been a P4 head coach for 11 seasons. He won less than 67% of his games 6 out of his 11 seasons.

If Lane goes 8-4 half the time at LSU how many seasons will he last? Four?

= LSU over the life of its football program.

Perfect.

Have we brought up how many threads Little Dalton has started about Lane Kiffin?

Setting the O/U at 20.

You give them too much credit. LSU has an all time winning percentage of 64.5%. That is 6th among SEC programs.

Great Point...what were the records for the 4 years prior (complete recruiting to eligibility exhaustion) for the schools before he got there?

Tennessee - 29-21 (58%)
USC - 43-8 (84%) Note...the 14 vacated wins were from 5&6 years earlier
FAU - 15-33 (31%)
Ole Miss - 20-28 (35%)
LSU - 36-17 (68%)

At these schools...Kiffin won (difference from prior 4 years at school):

Tennessee - 54% (-4%)
USC - 65% (-19%)
FAU - 67% (+36%)
Ole Miss - 74% (+39%)
LSU - TBD

There is a reason you start so many threads about LSU and LK and no one starts a thread about Bama and DeBoring

Tennessee - too small sample size

USC - had like 45 Scholarship players

Ole Miss - seemed very very good, considering Ole Miss

Most important, in the NIL CFB world, nothing you've done before this re-imagined profession matters all that much.

DeBoer has twice as many 4 loss seasons in 2 years at Bama as Lane did in 6 years at Ole Miss.

Lane had two 5 loss seasons in his first four years at Ole Miss - 2020 and 2022.

Lane will not survive long at his new job if he loses 5 games.
