Once Again the NCAA Shits In Their Own Bed and Then Complains About the Smell

In regards to everyone losing their mind over Bediako, the NCAA already ruled another former NBA draft pick and G league player eligible. The NCAA made the ruling, not a court. They opened pandora’s box. Their inconsistent and arbitrary rulings are what have gotten us here.
quote:
James Nnaji commits to Baylor, adding to wave of former pros. The NCAA ruled former 2023 NBA draft pick and European professional player James Nnaji eligible to play for Baylor in January 2026, creating significant debate.
Key Details on Nnaji's Eligibility:
Background: Nnaji was the 31st overall pick in the 2023 NBA Draft by the Detroit Pistons but spent the following seasons playing for FC Barcelona in Europe.
The Ruling: The NCAA permitted him to play because he never signed an NBA contract or played in an NBA game, which are the main criteria for ineligibility.
Impact: The decision caused confusion and backlash from other coaches regarding the "gray area" of eligibility rules and the shifting landscape of college basketball.
Debut: Nnaji made his debut in early January 2026, shortly after the ruling.

Did a 7’9” player score a bucket against Baylor?

Can anyone name a single invention/contribution that any post 1965 immigrant has contributed to the US? Sports do not count.

Signing an NBA contract vs signing no NBA contract.
Where is the debate?
Then we switch over to debating Pro leagues as equal to the NBA, which has nothing to do with NBA contracts.
There are pro football leagues in other countries. Is Canada Football League equal to the NFL? Bc that’s the argument you’re making in basketball terms. Are Asian baseball pro leagues equal to the MLB? Bama fans think yes, as long as it’s a Professional League, it’s equal to the NBA, NFL, MLB.
Then get into circular logic debates as if it proves they are all equal. Can we stop with the nonsense just bc you want to play an old NBA player to win a NCAA championship?

What is different in theory between signing a contract with a professional NBA team and a professional European team? Both are paying a player to play basketball. It is hard to argue some pros should be allowed to play while others can not, especially when they are making less than many of the “amateurs” playing in college.

In theory then we are back to the Canadian Football Leauge = NFL. The Asian Pro baseball Leagues = MLB.
You aren’t saying, Russia, Spains, France, Sweden’s pro basketball leagues are equal to college or G league, but the NBA. My state is bigger than every country you can state.
You believe they are equal. That’s your opinion, and debating you on something you already made up your mind on is not worth the time, everyday. We on the board don’t believe that.

Or maybe Sergey Brin and Google
Or maybe Jensen Huang and NVIDIA

European pro ball is glorified AAU.
That's like comparing MLB to the Korean pro baseball league.
If you sign an NBA contract, whether you ever suit up for an NBA team, you should never be eligible for college ball again.
What's next........minor leaguers who signed out of HS being able to play college ball?

This is the answer. Bediako signed the contract.

At least they aren’t paying 17 and 18 year old high school athletes millions of dollars to go play college sports.

I missed the part where he played NCAA basketball, then went pro, then went back to NCAA.

Elon Musk had nothing to do with developing Tesla cars. Nothing. Google was the next search engine not an innovation. Same with Invidia. It’s a shame your ignorance did not give you pause.
