This should really damage LSU's recruiting

From the “it’s not football related” narrative, it sounds like yall are just wasting money on non-revenue sports, no?

Think your time would be better spent worrying about Dabo turning in Ole Miss for your football coach tampering, there’s more evidence against Ole Miss than LSU but whatever makes you sleep better at night

I don’t think it’d be better spent that way at all. I have no control either way. Sorry my question offended your sensibilities.

Don't worry about what LSU spends their couch cushion change on, sweetheart.

Athletes in pretty much every sport are making money.
For instance, Nike recently announced deals with the following LSU athletes:
Kailin Chio, Gymnastics
Derek Curiel, Baseball
Tori Edwards, Softball
Casan Evans, Baseball
Trey’Dez Green, Football
Jayden Heavener, Softball
ZaKiyah Johnson, Basketball
DJ Pickett, Football
Jurnee Robinson, Volleyball
Dedan Thomas Jr., Basketball

And it’s typical a stupid non-answer for the Ole Miss troll all he can do is obsess over LSU and flame on LSU. You are pathetic.

By the end of September Rebs will vanish from here.

I just wonder which are in question. What factors does the CSC look at to say LSU is offending here? Are they determining market value or is it that “work” isn’t being performed? Do these folks need to do a certain amount of hours to earn their money? The investigation seems a little silly because it seems to be getting in the way of privately negotiated contracts. If a booster wants to throw down $100k on a gymnast, why not?
Edit: is it rev share related?

Maybe I worded my question in a way that seems to be inflaming yall, but I really don’t get the hostility beyond my name and logo.

It is not a big deal.
But it is a slow news period

Thanks for the intelligent discussion. Serious. I am wondering the same. I think one issue here is that the CSC doesn't have a ton of true authority. I am pretty confident it will just go away so not really going to spend much time researching it. Everybody has an agenda these days. LSU and OM fans do. The media does. Everybody does. I think there should be more structure around NIL and the CSC sounded like a good start but if a school wants to fight them hard I seen the school winning. The Athletic is just fishing for clicks though. Zero reason to single out LSU here. I think the CSC has like 9 employees last time I checked. Good luck monitoring 1000+ NIL deals.

I mean honestly. If y’all were worried about pay for play, that ship has sailed and sailed around the world twice. NIL is fundamentally anti-regulation. Why should ANY regulatory body get in between these kids and what the market thinks they’re worth?
If Amateurism is dead, which it is, then these kids should get the money folks are willing to give them. The act of governance is a farce to preserve the old model and it doesn’t follow logically.

LSU had a NET positive of over 60 million last year. So, dont you worry your ugly little head about LSU's finances.

Based on the wording, it seems like the athlete themselves just didn't report an NIL deal.
quote:
“The College Sports Commission is investigating whether a member of one of your institution’s sports teams failed to report one or more third-party Name, Image, and Likeness (NIL) deals in accordance with applicable rules,” the CSC’s head of investigations, Katie B. Medearis, wrote to LSU athletic director Verge Ausberry.
