I know some aren't Mel Kiper fans, but I still found this interesting. When is the last season you saw anyone with a mock draft sans a single SEC player?

Meh, I'm not sold on Tyson that high. My wish is for Bain to slip to 8.

Who in the SEC is worthy of a T10 pick? SEC wasn’t anything special this year

Still has 12 first round picks from the SEC. This is a meh statistic.

I didn't say any were or weren't,
Last time the SEC didn't have a top 10 pick was 2006.

KC Concepcion won the Paul Hornung award. He’s a damn good player.

Concepcion is a great player. Not T10 pick worthy but probably first round

But he still predicts 12/32, or 37.5% of the first round, for SEC players.

Kiper is a sock puppet. Ignore him.

The Chiefs have the ninth pick…I really hope they take KC.

Honest question.
What has Kiper said or done in the last 15 years that half the internet has not done or said first?

Ohio State with 5 projected first rounders including 3 in the top 10.

This is one of several indicators that the balance of conference power has shifted. The SEC is no longer getting the top talent in the country. They're going to the Big 10 and other places. Our conference will have to make adjustments to get back to the top. We don't have the overall money the Big 10 does but money doesn't guarantee titles. The SEC coaches are going to have to get better at talent evaluation and player development. But right now we're sucking hind tit to the Big 10.

12 outta 32 are SEC though.
