some great, great memories and some sadness as well. Will we ever get there again??
I believe NIL was brought in to put an end to the Alabama’s, and the Georgia’s of college football.

We finished #1 in the SEC in the regular season without a run game, and beat as many top 30 Sagarin teams as Indiana

It's been alot of doom & gloom but I'm glad all this house cleaning occurred. Shows KDB recognized a problem and is attempting to remedy it. They'll be some growing pains next season with the youth on the offensive line but overall I think the next 2 seasons will be good ones.

It’s crazy how many fans preach about Saban’s toughness and say that’s how we should be but then cry about everything by posting online the board.

At first, I thought it is what it is but it’s the same 5-7 posters in every thread for weeks. We all know who they are. If they are like this IRL…

Make no mistake, every major rule change to college football was a reaction to our success under Saban. First it was minor recruiting stuff like the bump rule and grayshirting. Then after we beat LSU, they freaked out and formed the playoff.

Indiana was total crap not too long ago, Cignetti just figured out how to work the system to his advantage, and the blueprint of assembling that kind of program is right there for any coach to emulate. So, with that said: if even a historically bad football program like Indiana can get it together and win it all, then I think of course a Bama team sans Saban can find their way back. But who knows, maybe Cignetti is just Saban II and this is a symptom of that rather than purely the state of CFB. It's too early to tell.

Noticed a stark difference in physicality in the trenches. We are nothing close to that.

They took the personality of their HC, as did MIA, and that was a bunch of grown men out there.

Wild how quickly the drop off went, and unsure if we can get that back.

You know what else Indiana does...tackle, with force. Not many missed tackles, penalties, and mistakes that make negative yardage on both sides of the ball. You could tell who was the more disciplined team with not a lot of rah rah too. Toney is an awesome player but could even get up off the ground before celebrating a long reception. Miami looked more talented and bigger but it didn't even matter.

Also lost to a terrible FSU team, got worse as the year went on, and got our doors blown off on the two biggest stages.

Miami was arse under Cristobal until last season and even then they had some stinkers like a one point win over Cal.

You guys would not have granted Mario a 4th year if that were us.

All I can think about is if a school is given 100 Million(this season) for NIL by Mark Cuban (150 million for this coming year) any place can buy a Championship.

With the amount of money involved, leashes are shorter. Decisions still get made on substance, which is not simply “we lost 6 games” or “we made the playoffs and won a game”

penalties

One of my positive takeaways from this season, is that we seemed to clean up a lot of the penalties from the previous 4-5 seasons. We ended up finishing 16th in the nation in penalties against at 4.5 per game. Indiana was 5th and 3.6 per game.

We were definitely playing cleaner ball... now execution, that's a different thing altogether.

9 of the top 15 teams in fewest penalties against were in the Big10. We were bay far the best in the SEC with Georgia being the next SEC team at 23rd. Overall, I'm afraid that the Big10 is currently playing more disciplined and better ball than the SEC.

Any place ??? Not too many schools can obtain that much NIL money…I know Alabama can’t.
You just can’t compete against teams with that much cash unless you have the resources to match it!

Lane Kiffin and Mario Cristobal would have had their arse ran out of the Mal Moore facilities due to their in-game coaching.
