JD Baker will do well after Weis, but Pete's defense will continue to be an issue

Just being pushed around with physicality

I know Baker is a good OC though

I believe with the season they just had, they’ll have a good recruiting year and beef up that D

I think the offense takes a step back. They REALLY need to shore up that defense if they want to get back next year.

We just hired a defensive coordinator and have done a good job in the portal addressing some issues on defense waiting on Chambliss waiver..and signing Deuce McKnight from Auburn

Man you are so right! Baker will be a fair facsimile of the Kiffin offense. The Golding defense will be what is is!

Have fun Warm Piss!

It looks like we're addressing the secondy/linebackers with the portal.

I'm not worried about the offensive coordinator because this guy we just got has already been Co offensive coordinator at Ole Miss couple years ago and we were rolling.

Defense has got to get better though. Honestly I thought the whole line played fairly well and that was my biggest concern at the beginning of the year.

Don't think you'll miss much of a beat with JDB, he made Katin Hauser look pretty good for ECU

The physicality of their O to your defense was just crazy tonight

The kid we are getting from Auburn is a shut down corner so that will help

The defensive will be better, he was trying to protect the secondary in the only rush 3 concept he hired a defensive coordinator and signed some stud CB's including a shut down corner from Auburn so I expect the defense to be much better next year all around just signed a linebacker from Georgia Tech and Defensive end from Bama

They were literally just the number one defense in the SEC a year ago.

Maybe, maybe not. Signing day isn’t until December.

If Chambliss doesn’t return and they don’t retain or replace key departures on defense, they will likely have a significant drop off.

This, unless Pete is the coach Ole Miss fans seem to believe he is.

They will? Piss Drunk Pete isn’t exactly confidence inspiring as a coordinator, let alone a head coach. All his defenses have been pure arse

This board has incredibly short memories. We went all in on defense in 24 and all in on offense in 25. Defense was an afterthought in the portal going into last season. We seem to be bringing in some solid talent this cycle for defense. We just need to make sure the offense doesn’t suffer because of it.
