he would toss Bobo out on his head and offer the checkbook to Monken on bended knee. A universally accepted truism in business is you don’t hire friends or family. You absolutely must be able to remain emotionally detached from business decisions for any hope of longevity and productivity. IMHO Kirby’s broken this rule to perhaps his own detriment. What made Saban Saban was his strict adherence to excellence damn the cost or who got their feeling hurt. I can’t see him ever hiring his BFF, but I can certainly see him firing him if the product standard dipped one millimeter. People are their own worst enemy and Kirby is not exempt from that either.

Kirby will never fire Bobo.

Honestly, I wouldn't even say all of this is on Bobo either. There were plenty of times the O just didn't execute.

Oline constantly getting blown up, couldnt run the ball consistently, and Gunner having constant up and down games.

I think the parity in the game is the biggest thing. Like others have said, we can't just load up the roster with studs and expect them to stay longer than a year if they dont get playing time and/or money.

I can't believe that UGA is not considered competitive with NIL though.

You would think the admins would tell Kirby that the checks are blank and get who we want or need.

Thats the part that needs to be fixed though. NIL has made the game interesting, but its so broken that I have 0 buy in on players on our team cause any of them could leave.

If that were to happen, Monken would still have to deal with a problematic OL and it's OL coach. And, it appears the WR room is still not very good. I know injuries have something to do with the passing struggles at times but still.

IMO, your opinion is not worth a flip, and if the "H" stands for Honest, it's not that either.

CFB is dead. This is now university branded semi-pro football. I loved CFB. Whatever is happening now isn’t nearly as captivating.

There's no "semi" about it - it is professional football.

Agree with all this. If I'm Monken though and an offer was made, one of my stipulations would be control (or veto power of some kind) over offensive position coach hirings/firings as part of my counter to be sure I have who I want where I want them.

Monken was never a great recruiter and hated that aspect of the position. Recruiting is still critical- it's not all 100% portal. Even in the NFL, you have to draft well, you can't built a Superbowl team through just free agency.

Corporate business speak is so damn annoying on message boards.

OP should've thrown in "from a 50,000 foot view it's important that Kirby takes an organic hollistic approach to onboarding."

Bingo. It's like minor-league baseball at premium MLB prices.
They're also at a massive disadvantage considering most of the other pro leagues have established ways of collective bargaining/getting around antitrust laws.

I'm just enjoying the Kirby era, it started in the good ol days, but when it's over, it'll be a strange strange world.

I am starting to tire of the situation. Football has always been important to me but not in today's format. 18 yo and lambos make me puke. Yo think you pay someone that much out of hs while people who save lives daily get underpaid.... It's bullshite.

We spent 25% less than the top spenders this season. The game has changed. Evaluation, allocation, and development are all that matters in roster building now. And the better gameday coaches will win in the playoffs. Bobo will never be that.

In and of itself, that doesn't mean much. Did we get better results than them, or worse?

We did as well. The point is that’s not sustainable over the long run.

Correct professional athletes and coaches, and some people think these professionals are above criticism…

Agreed. NGL, I donate to the music school & some orgs I was a part of as a student. I will probably not be donating to NIL unless I hit the lottery.

I'm not poor or anything but I feel like I'd be pissing in the wind when these guys are getting 6-7 figures all over the place

And yes, that also mean I cant talk as much shite as some of y'all
