With the piss poor bowl season showing from the SEC behind us, just how big of a factor was the new NIL landscape in the great scheme of things. Is the era of SEC dominance over???

I think it’s the Portal coupled with “opt outs.”

You all cheer when Alabama loses, then cry about how SEC dominance is over after it happens.

There’s no question. The SEC’s advantage of keeping Southeastern talent stacked on rosters for 4 years has been gutted.

By design.

Aside from LSU, who were all of these SEC teams with so many opt-outs? Also, was the SEC the only conference that had players opt out of bowl games?

Well none of you other fricks have stepped up.

I guess it's just coincidence that when Alabama was on top the SEC was the most dominate conference and now that Alabama is in transition and has dropped a step it's not.

You just don't want to admit the reality, and I don't give a frick if you like it or not.

You want to prove me wrong, then fricking do something. Otherwise all I see is that Alabama is down and the rest of you lack the coat tails you previously rode on.

Yet if the sec had lobbied for Texas to make the playoffs rather than against us since we entered the sec you would have a couple more wins.

Bama crying, I love it.

Seems like UGA has two more recent titles than Bama

You had 2 good years.

That's not stepping up and carrying the conference.

I dont think so.

Theres a lot of pieces in the air right now.

The big ten will suffer from their four time zones of football.

Sec will have better packed stadiums.

We are diluted right now but that’s what it is.

Sec and big 10 will prevail but with more change.

So Bama only had 7 good years under Saban? That’s not carrying the conference

Meanwhile, bama hasn't won a legit title in almost a decade.

You lost 3 regular season games, and your bowl game was against another 3 loss team who's HC was arrested in a huge arse scandal before you played.

You had your chance, you blew it.

Outside of Alabama getting whipped (by the #1 team in the country), I don't see the big problem. A&M lost to a Miami team that is top to bottom a top 5 talent team, and the other SEC teams in the playoff lost to other SEC teams.

The rest of the bowls are like the 2020 season to me. If you won and want to brag about it, great. Go for it. If you lost and want to ignore it, that's also valid.

And now nobody respects the SEC as a result. If Alabama had beat Indiana, this topic isn't happening. Instead, since Alabama lost and you all lost to Alabama, here we are.

Maybe it's because LSU would have made the 12 team playoff a total of 2 times over the past 12 years and one of those would have been barely.

During that time LSU has lost a minimum of 3 regular seasons games with the exception of 2019 every year. The best thing LSU is good at right now is getting over-ranked to start the season.

It's been so bad at LSU you have to pretend entire seasons didn't exist, and you spend more time cheering for other teams than you do your own.
