Everytime Ole Miss wins a playoff game. Just my opinion, but any program that is desperate enough to pay a coach bonuses because a rival conference team wins a playoff game should be immediately kicked out of the big 6. That’s just embarrassing

Sounds like something that Kiffin's agent got worked in.
They shift money around and make you think you've come out ahead or put it into a slot that has tax adv's or for some other reason.
Happens all the time in business. Similar to getting 0% APR. You still pay.

I wonder how in the world did Lane get this facet of his contract in his contract? LOL! What benefit would LSU have to agreeing to this? That is literally millions of dollars going to a coach who hasn't coached one game for you because your rival keeps winning games. Money that could have gone to NIL. I'm obviously missing something here...

This isn’t uncommon in the world of business. If you’re valued enough and your current package/contract includes some sort of guaranteed bonus. Why not negotiate with the new employer to have those bonuses paid as a stipulation of accepting the offer?
