He would have been overly aggressive and played right into Kirbys hands. Pete being slightly more focused on D was the difference.

Lane would gone for it on every 4th down that was under 5 yards and lost the game.. He would not have try them long FG's at all

Lane sh*ts his pants in that game last night. That's what he does in big games. He's literally won nothing of significance.

Which conservative decisions did Pete make that Lane wouldn't have, specifically?

Kicking field goals.

Kiffin blew a 9 point lead in the 4th quarter against Georgia.

Last night Ole Miss came back from being down 9 points and got screwed by the refs multiple times in the process.

I think he would’ve kicked one of those field goals at the beginning, not both. But who knows, maybe you convert the fourth and score a TD.

The real question is how the playcalling would’ve differed and how that would’ve affected the defense’s rest on the sideline.

Overall, it’s a silly comparison.

2 field goals on 4&9 and 4&5 in the first quarter? I'm pretty sure Lane would kick those as well.

Anything else?

This is such a stupid thread. Literally nobody knows. Does he kick the FGs? Probably. He probably would not have fricked up the end of half situation as much. This is all hypothetical bullshite.

I'm not sure it would've been much different with CWJ still calling the plays.

But I agree it's silly. Both Lane and Pete are good coaches. There's a lot of coaches who could've won that game with Chambliss's performance last night.

You’re just being a child. Asking hypotheticals as if there is someone who can answer them conclusively.

He would have blown a couple of 4th down calls instead of kicking long field goals and lost by 6.

This is truth. Lane isn't very good against good teams.

You are 100% correct. Besides money, I have no idea why any kicker would want to play for a Lane Kiffin coached team.

Yeah, Lane was good against mediocre competition like LSU. Now, he doesn't have them to play, so he may have another loss notched on his future seasons...
