For those jumping off the cliff, what staff in the SEC would you swap w/ besides UGA?

I’d probably say UTx as well, but I’d be hesitant and UTx has soured on Sark. No one else is a definite upgrade and that absolutely includes Kiffin IMO.

Edit: Said another way, I believe we have at least a top 3 staff in the SEC. We need to give him time to learn and grow. Hopefully he can fix the run game this offseason.

Outside of Texas and Georgia you are right.

DeBoer more than likely gets two more years, we are not Auburn.

Curious to see what changes he makes, but no doubt or expectations have been lowered while he is there

Yeah, the whole board wants KDB gone, partly including myself, but there’s not ONE coach that we could realistically pull that would come today. Like it or not, KDB is our coach barring a NFL jump. Name one… just one, not a fantasy, that could/would walk in the Mal Moore tomorrow…

He’s not getting fired right now. But I can guarantee you that he will be under immense pressure to make immediate changes to the staff and roster after what we saw today. Alabama fans will not come to Bryant Denny to watch a product like we put on the field today. On the biggest stage arguably.

we lose to auburn and we might of gotten kiffin. We are stuck with him because there isn't anyone really left. I would argue that there hasn't been anything ive seen that some avg coach could of done.

So you would prefer that we lose to Auburn just so that we can hire Lane Kiffin ? Wow

Just because there’s not a surefire better option doesn’t mean we have to happy with dogshit performances or that DeBoer shouldn’t be heavily criticized.

Half the SEC just made a coaching change so it’s also tough to make that call today.

LSU for starters; Texas, obviously GA. Now what of those are realistic? I don’t know. I’d for sure take Sark though and I think he would give us more thought now.

Did you want them when their defense was getting waxed by weak ACC teams last year on the way to missing a 12 team playoff with the #1 draft pick playing QB?

Or how about when he lost a game to GT when all he had to do was take 3 knees and the game was over? Cristobal has lost 2 games in a short span due to literally terrible coaching.

I’m not sure he would have been given time to turn it around at Bama with the mistakes he’s made at Miami early on. And Bama fans would have murdered him for getting Carson Beck for $4 million. Miami should be glad they stayed the course, because it could have been ugly.

His offensive and defensive line are some of the best I’ve seen besides Georgia in a bit. He’s a damn good coach. I’ve wanted him from day 1. Old school hard nosed coach.

As crazy as it sounds, Kyle Whittingham is similar in many ways. His Utah teams were extremely physical along the line of scrimmage.

Mario is known for shitting the bed in worse ways than even Kiffin with Kentucky

Genuinely baffled how many people are saying Kiffin and Mario without looking at their actual resume

When he wins the natty in a few weeks you’ll see why.

He's getting a fourth season but he may get fired mid-way through that fourth edition of his program if it is going sideways.

2 game sample size. They were bad last year, really bad. They lost to SMU and UL this year, teams they out classed and out talented by more than Bama vs. FSU week 1. Everyone wants the latest person having success…and that used to be Dabo, or Jimbo Fisher, or….

Imagine thinking you wanted Cristobal over DeBoer in 2023…people would have laughed at you. Let’s watch Cristobal sustain over a few years first (and DeBoer has never had 3-4 million to get a portal QB…Miami has done it twice in 2 years).

Here's the thing, and this isn't going to be popular but this is more or less the thing: there is no Nick Saban waiting in the wings right now. Kalen DeBoer, for better or worse, is our best option at this point. The season didn't end the way we might have liked it to but we managed to beat both Tennessee and Auburn while also making the CFP.

The grass is not always greener on the other side. So let's be patient for now and revisit this conversation in a year or two.

The Kiffin love is insane. You guys forget he's also notorious for shitting the bed against scrub teams like Kentucky that had zero SEC wins? And he did so with a stud like Jaxson Dart under center.
