Stop listening to the media and start relying on SOS and SOR metrics. And stop giving a shite about conferences.

Such analysis would have had these teams lower.

Texas Tech
OSU
g5 Teams

The media influence and conference bias is killing this game.

Where would OSU have been on this? they would have still had a bye.

SOS rankings have the SEC as the best conference. What about bowl season and the playoffs so far has told you they are the best conference?

They had the best SOS

No sir. You beat no one worth a damn other than Texas. And that was only because Arch shite his pants. He literally skipped balls off the turf.

You lost to IU. And Miami beat your arse and left no doubt.

SOS is very subjective. A team like Missouri..stays in the top 25 all year, is supposedly a good win and they beat absolutely no one.

Let's hear who you think belonged more than OSU then. Tell me all the SEC teams with good SOS that should have gotten in

Texas should have gotten in. But that’s not the point. The point isn’t who got in but where they were seeded.

OSU beat no one other than Texas the first game. No one. No way that’s a number two seed. No way.

Georgia should have been there. OSU should have been four max. All season. Not number one all season and then magically 2. It’s bullshite.

Four or five. Ole Miss would beat you. Georgia would. Texas would now.

You should NOT deserve a bye unless you have played a schedule that’s worth a damn. Ever.

They need to go back to recency bias. How are teams playing at the end of the season? Are they on an upward or downward trajectory? This used to be part of the criteria but with the new focus on not penalizing losses in “meaningless” conference championship games, I think this has been lost.

I agree that a team shouldn’t be punished for losing an extra game in which they are competitive. But, in the case of bama this year, if you have played like utter dogshite for a month and are completely non-competitive in the CCG, that should matter.

Agree w Sneezy. SOS has to count for something and media bias is real.

And I say this as a Texas fan whose team started the season ranked #1 solely due to the idiots in the media.

Rankings shouldn’t even begin until Oct 1 at which time they should be spit out by a computer.

WTF are we even doing here. Texas barely beat Michigan in a neutral site and OSU handled them literally in Michigan's last game

Oh yea, and OSU BEAT Texas....checks my calendar, this football season

If we were doing this Miami wouldn't have been in the playoffs because Notre Dame would beat them NOW

I think they should blow the whole thing up and start a minor league

How much better college football would be if only all the teams had to pay attention to the message boards and do what the posters told them.

U sir are a fool. OSU and TT deserved what they got. The g5 teams should have been left out probably for ND and Vandy.

In reality, most years will only have up to 3 teams that are significantly better than the rest, so you will get some beat downs.

It is the exact same beauty contest it has always been...........there are just fewer voters.

As I said in another thread. bama got in on name recognition. Their UGA win was lauded while the FSU loss was forgotten. The way they played the last month of the season was overlooked. It happens every year. It will continue to happen. Names sell tickets and tv ads.

Dude this isn’t debatable. The committees job is to get the top four right.

Let’s check.

Texas Tech. Lmao. No. Not even close.
Georgia. We shall see. But probably okay.
Indiana. Yes. But only after it was forced my a head to head matchup. They had it wrong all season.
OSU. Wrong. Probably four. They beat no one that justified number one all season. No one.

So what was the accuracy of the committee identifying the top four teams. I would say they got it about 25 percent right if grading their answers.

Pretty shitty.
