You're right. How can anyone support this effort with the most talented roster in the nation?

I've been a big DeBoer defender but there's no defending this. We look lost on both sides of the ball. This is eerily similar to watching Shula's bad teams.

This is the thing - we had the most talented roster in the league and we have completely wasted it

Indiana is way better than us. I think the fact that their “roster” is definitely not better than ours but their team is this much better is a pretty big indictment. This is Cignetti’s second year too.

The effort was never an issue with Shula's teams. Even in 2003 they were taking top ten teams to multiple overtimes and only losing by 7 to #1 Oklahoma. The only team to truly blow out Shula at Bama was 2003 LSU, and that wasn't as bad as this, especially when you consider that Bama on paper has a major talent advantage in this game.

On paper

People got to stop clinging onto these recruiting rankings as the end all be all. Who cares if we have a 5 star DL if he’s getting schooled by a 2 star OL?

Brother - it is the primary metric used in evaluating talent UNTIL they arrive on campus you don't know what you truly have. We have not developed these guys - that isn't on the guys - that is on the coaches

We need someone from Indiana’s current staff. They practice like 30 minutes a day and never lose.

All the stars don’t matter because we are mediocre at the two most important spots on the field - OL and DL.

I agree there’s no need in attacking fellow fans for an opinion, but he’s not wrong about Deboer. He needs to make some serious changes in the coaching staff in the offseason or he won’t be here long.
