Silverfield is the biggest used car salesman I’ve seen since Bert. His grand plan that we’re putting all our hope in—‘We’re going to outwork our opponents (LOL) in the SEC and do it the right way’—whatever the frick that means.

I will say I'm not thrilled with the amount of "former Memphis recruit/target" I've seen popping up. If he thinks he can copy/paste that caliber of roster into the SEC, it's going to be a long couple of years.

Maybe, maybe not

Only idiots are certain before a game is played.

Give support until proven right or remain an idiot. That simple hombre

Pretty sure there's a middle ground in there somewhere.

Probably so, whatever the OP is doing isn’t in that gray area

Depends on the position.

Then it depends on the context. He was apparently first to offer every player who could compete at the P4 level in Arkansas and surrounding the Memphis area. So former Memphis recruit/target is kinda watered down and doesn't mean much as it means nothing to throw out 60 offers knowing 40 of them are going to skip over you for the P4 offer that came later.

As far as position every team in the country could have taken their RB roster over the past decade or so.

WRs have continually shown they can make the step up to the P4 and compete as upperclassmen, same with QBs and several secondary players.

The only positions that do not translate as well is offensive line and defensive line.

Auburn is the one fricked right now. Silver field has managed to retain the people we wanted back. The plains are on fire right now

Nothing has happened so far from Silverfield to say we are fricked, in my opinion. Maybe a couple of hires that he has made that some are not happy with but overall it has been positive.

It has to start with outworking our opponents, so I don't see a problem with that comment. Because we sure as shite aren't going to out talent most teams, so it has to start with hard work.

He has done a good job so far with retaining our existing talent which is the first major hurdle for a new coach. As a couple have said, you gotta give the guy a chance. The leash may be shorter for some but for me I am going to give him plenty of time before I jump to the we are fricked conclusion.

You frickers can’t get out of your own way. You’re cooking the guy even before the portal opens up and assemble a team.

I could agree with this for the most part.

The problem with the offensive line is no one stays long enough to get totally in a system it seems.

Defensive line there is always outliers though like that Vanilla Gorilla dude that played for the cowboys after coming to us.

What exactly are/were you expecting at this point? The players who have left sucked - bye Felicia. New coach can’t really say anything other than what he’s said and WE HAVE SUCKED FOR A LONG TIME AND IT’S NOT ONLY BECAUSE OF BAD COACHES. We have an entire AD that has a losing culture across the board and a moron leading it with a bunch of dipshits on the BoT. Did you really think we were going to hire Oregon’s coach or somebody like that against the other programs with vacancy. As others have said. Have to start somewhere. And no, I don’t buy into the hype any more than you at this point other than understanding that it’s a new regime that deserves as much rope as they can hang themselves with or climb out of the hole we’ve dug ourselves into. WE ARE ARKANSAS. NOT frickING ALABAMA.

I would think his OL being about 80% zone blocking scheme would help to not have to learn a complicated scheme

Sure but the linemen being 6'0 tall causing him to land at the G5 or lower level remains and the number of these dudes who prove they can play despite their size is few and far between.

Like wise the guys who have the physical size but dont have the skills, IQ, or want too needed to play the positions exist but you normally find these guys on the 3rd string or scout teams in the G4.

Sam was good and bad at this. His o linemen finds in the G4 were good finds for the most part. The 3rd string UGA defensive signings were not.

It feels like not much has changed. HY effed up and said the quiet part out loud. We don't have the resources to compete for football championships. Suposedly things had changed, and we were about to hire a big-name coach that could demand proper NIL funding. But we ended up with guy who's happy to give it a go against a stacked deck for life-changing money.

I have no doubt hes better than SP but still not in the top half of the SEC with an underfunded roster.

Two things can be true at once:

1. This thread is ridiculous and is pure PTSD from the Morris hire. This thread also has aids and is people trying to get in front of it as an emotional defense mechanism so they can say “I TOLD YOU SO!!1!1!” if they are let down.

2. I still chuckle every time
