Why is Texas losing many of their productive offensive players from last season?

Not trolling. Legit question. I wouldn't think paying them is a problem.

you mean the one, Wisner? He is apparently asking for RB1 money, and he's just not an RB1.
I wouldn't classify our WR Moore as "productive." He is easily replaceable.

He was your second WR in receptions. If he's replaceable, why is he your that high up in production for a WR? Is you WR recruiting and assessment bad?

We are losing a ton on D, on O we are not losing that much. Wisner is a good culture and good back but he wants $1M. Not paying him that, hope he gets it but not at UT.

We lost our WR 3 He was good but wanted to be WR 1. We have Mosley and Wingo who are more 1A and 1B, Morre is a Wr 3. currently and he wanted more money period.

A podcaster said that, so it’s a rumor. Every transfer is rumored to leave bc of money for every school. I think that the talent behind him probably passes him up. Isn’t there a 5 star behind him with another high ranked kid coming in?

I think Wisner thought he had Texas by the balls since Baxter left and he was the clear #1. He asked Texas for a large NIL deal which they wouldn’t match. So I think Texas isn’t overpaying for their current players. Or in the case of people like Deandre Moore, telling them they need to take a pay cut.
Texas was fine letting CJ Baxter go. He has not been the same since his injuries.

Sorry, checked and realize I read the blurb on him on Twitter wrongly. He is second in receptions this year and not first. That still seems pretty high in production to just let him move on.

Ryan Wingo is our leading receiver. Moore is a very average #2, if that. He's asking for WR1 money and he isn't worth it.

Recruiting has been very good, coaching and development has not. There are rumors that the WR coach won't be back, but nothing official yet.

yes Derek Cooper out of IMG. I think most of us were shocked to see Wisner in the portal. I hate it because he was crucial in our wins against A&M and OU the last 2 years. great games against them but outside of that is pretty much a decent RB2. but I absolutely would want to keep him, whereas with Moore, eh whatever

Recruiting and evals at WR have been okay, Texas just hasn’t had a true #1 emerge. Mostly just quality #2s and #3s getting/asking #1 money. They’re looking for a proven #1 in the portal to pair with Wingo, Mosely, and Livingstone.
RB and OG/C evals, on the other hand, have been atrocious. Bunch of jags that need to be replaced if Texas expects to compete. There seems to be an awareness of this issue now that didn’t exist last offseason. This will be a very consequential portal session for Texas.

Depends what he is asking. It’s a game of chicken right now where some of these players are demanding money they haven’t earned.
I wish him the best but I trust our staff and if they think they can upgrade for the same or less money I’m sure they will. He isnt leaving for any other reason but money.

Because the players can see what only part of the fan base can see. Sark’s offense is a joke

Because they didn’t make the playoffs…

That is true but coming into the season he was our more veteran receiver. We also had a guy that was out for the first quarter or third of the season and as the season went on he started getting more and more targets and DeAndre Moore less and less.
I would have love to have kept Moore and Wisner but it seems like they were both wanting 1st string top of the line money and promises going into next season and there was definitely talk of Texas bringing in some guys at both those positions so these guys decided to hit the market.
It will be interesting to see how this pans out for Texas. I liked both of these guys and whichever teams get these players, they will be getting leaders and tough dudes.

That was his first mistake. Steers have no balls.

I'm amazed at how Georgia's program keeps and develops players. Definitely an outlier.
Most schools deal with what we're seeing, which isn't too crazy. Wisner and Moore think they can get more on the open market. I think we can replace them with better players.

Legit question, Legit answer.
Texas last four recruiting classes have been top shelf. Many leaving may be getting passed over for position and playing time. There are many really good football players competing for a limited number of spots and limited exposure time. Why stay on the bench at Texas when you can start at another school. The portal and NIL make things much better for the players. It's almost like the chains have been taken off of them and replaced with self determination and freedom.
For reference,
Year......Class rank (24/67)
2022........5
2023........3
2024........6
2025........1
In addition, since NIL and the portal, Texas has had no problems acquiring players at positions of need.

Texas was similar to Georgia this year in terms of transfer player snaps. We sat around 15-17% compared to Georgias 10%. The staff completely missed on IOL evaluations and development. They also decided to enter the season with a couple of injury ridden athletically limited RBs. I think Texas thinks they can upgrade at RB, Slot, and IOL for reasonable prices. Which is realistic in my opinion. Though because of the misses our transfer snap count will probably dramatically increase. Who knows how that shakes up roster management going forward.
