Here’s a counterpoint to all the failures OU had Friday night

Punter dropped the ball
Lou Groza daisy dukes missed two field goals
Etc etc etc shall I go on? We all know the what ifs I can go on and on
But imagine for a second…
What if Bama hadn’t fumbled on a punt return the first game?
What if bama hadn’t given up a strip sack the first game?
What if Bama hadn’t given up a pick 6 the first game?
What if Talty hadn’t missed the field goal the first game?
All of these what ifs lead right back to the first game.
Which if the what ifs had not have happened the first game OU wouldn’t have even been in the playoffs to begin with.
TLDR what ifs lead to Bama winning in November and the what ifs Friday don’t even happen

I’m a logo/graphics guy and I’ll admit, that’s quite impressive despite the negative connotation. But this loss was not a choke. Oklahoma wasn’t supposed to be in this position unlike 2015, 2017, 2018, 2019. The loss hurt but it’s not like this wasn’t expected. There was no disbelief when Mateer threw the INT for a TD. He was turnover proned. But he also played a solid game besides the one mistake.

When the score was 17-0, Oklahoma had out gained Alabama 166 yards to 12.
After that point the advantage went to Alabama, but not extreme, 248 to 198.
The pick 6 and punt..block made up the 10 point difference.

But the what ifs didn't happen in November... which allowed the what ifs on Friday to happen.
Regardless, each time had a chance to win the game they lost. And each team could have easily lost the game they won.

I have never believed in luck. You make your own so called luck by your actions or inactions.
After watching literally thousands of College and pro games, I am always astounded at how certain outcomes come to be.

I mean, Alabama fans do the same thing. After the SECCG all we heard was:
1. Georgia had short fields!
2. Georgia got a blocked punt!
3. Georgia got an interception!
4. Georgia got the ball at the 15 after we failed on a 4th and 1!
And ignoring from the first game:
1. Georgia went for it on 4th and 1 instead of kicking a field goal
2. Talyn Taylor dropped pass in his hands on the 15 yard line while wide open
TLDR
Alabama does the same thing

Honest to goodness...when you went up 17-0 you expected the collapse?
I was pulling for Oklahoma, but wow. I was shocked at how quickly the wheels came off.

Alabama stayed in the game and kept plugging away, I will give them that. They had every opportunity to throw in the towel and quit, but they stuck with it and clawed their way back into the game. Respect.
