Brother is a massive IU fan and wants to go. I’ve always wanted to go to one but idk when Florida will ever make an appearance.

Worth the $500ish tickets to go see the game? I’m sure plenty here have been.

The most serene setting in all of college football. It’s well worth the experience. Outside of the stadium is not much to brag about but the in-game experience is worth it.

If you can afford it you should definitely go. I spend too much as is following the Vols around on annual disappointment tour. Nashville for me instead

It’s an amazing experience. He should 100% go. The money will be forgotten but the memory will last.

It'll be worth it, all the way up to the point Alabama beats that arse. Then he'll regret it.

Yes. The Stadium is old and don’t expect a lot/any amenities. But it’s the granddaddy of them all and if anyone has any appreciation for football history, it’s a bucket list item.

Also, you and find things to do.

If you really want to mix it up, fly to Vegas (cheaper flights). Spend a night or two there. Drive to LA for a couple of nights and the game.

The Rose Bowl one of the few bowls worth going to even if your team isn't playing.

Seats higher in the bowl are a LONG way from the field, otherwise great.

Beautiful setting with a couple of caveats:

Stadium felt old and dilapidated to me. By comparison, the oldest SEC stadiums might feel fresh and new. Claustrophobic (low and narrow) tunnels to get in from the concourse to the seating area...ushers limit the number of people who can enter at once.

Stadium is low and wide. Maybe people were generally shorter when it was designed? We stood for the entire game because we could not have seen anything otherwise.

Stadium is adjacent to a golf course that seemed to be the main parking area. We walked maybe a mile each way.

YMMV substantially, but flights were a challenge for us. I remember that we had a very hard time finding flights to LA. We ended up flying into Orange County/Irvine/John Wayne, staying in Irvine, driving to and from Pasadena on gameday (~90 min. each way?), and driving down to San Diego (~90 min. to 2 hours?) the next day for the flight home. A lot of driving but really no more than a normal football gameday (north Atlanta to Auburn and back). On the plus side of that, John Wayne and San Diego are smaller and much easier to deal with than LAX.

All of that said, southern Cali was a nice break from a Georgia winter.

My favorite of the big “New Years Day” bowls. It is kind of a pain in the arse getting to and from the game, but it’s an experience.

It’s awesome. Very worth it.

Look at all the airports out there, even Burbank. LAX is about as far as it gets from Pasadena.

Weather will be incredible and the evening sunset in January there is like none other.

Pasadena is a lot different when what you think of when you think “LA”.
