I don't think it's any secret that this team suffered down the stretch due to injuries and being beaten up. We played a grueling schedule and it showed up via wear and tear. By the time we played Georgia in Atlanta we were a shadow of the team that had beaten them in Athens back in September. But now guys are starting to get healthy again due to the downtime between the SEC Championship Game and the first round of the CFP last night. They have another week and a half to get healthier still. God willing we'll get some more players back and the ones we got back last night will continue to get healthier still.

Indiana is well-coached and plays well as a team but they are nowhere near as talented or as battle-tested as we are. If we play our A-game and limit mistakes I seriously think we can win by 7-10 points.

I think we bully them.

They will have been off for over 3 weeks.

They are just really good at managing the game and not doing dumb shite. As long as we have 0 on the turnover column we win.

IU based on the adjusted metrics is far and away the best team in the country.

Whether that’s partially a result of playing in the worst big ten I’ve seen in years or whether there are two ultra hot teams who just happen to be surrounded by a bunch of ugly girls remains to be seen.

But I wouldn’t undersell who IU is based on their logo by any means.

Oh, I’m not. I think they’re the best coached team in the country.

I expect the Indiana game to go about like the game tonight with Oklahoma. We just need to stop coming out with the boring Grubb game plan that put us 17 points down.

Yeah I think OSU is very good...but I really can only base this off their roster, which has more NFL players than probably any other team. My opinion of IU is 100% relative to that OSU game.

That said, there was not near enough crossover play amongst the mid teams of the conferences so there is really no basis to make much comparisons. I think its very safe to say that most of the Big 10 fails the eyeball and NFL draftable player tests...except 3 teams. Indiana did beat the other two...but there are SEC teams that had talented rosters...that lost 5-7 games.

All that said, its still difficult to determine how good IU really is relative to the rest of CFB at this point...until Jan 1

The Michigan team we played in Rose Bowl had a easy schedule also.

Ohio State missed a chip shot field goal in the B1G championship game that would have tied it at 13. Not sure how much OSU cared about that game with them snapping their losing streak to Michigan. Eight times out of ten OSU beats Indiana on talent alone. JMO

That Michigan team was loaded to the brim with NFL players and was a complete juggernaut.

Fair point too. Last year cant be ignored with how OSU dismantled UT. I think its safe to assume that IU is gonna be pretty damn good

I never said that they weren’t. From a talent standpoint, are they better than Georgia ?

Indiana beat two good teams in Ohio State and Oregon. Ohio State is the better team. The way Ohio State rebounded after losing to Michigan last year could be repeated. Indiana stumbled a couple of times, so I think we win this game.

I watched their game against Penn State and they should have lost. Mendoza made some amazing plays to lead them to the win. PSU outplayed them most of the day with an interim coach leading them.

There were chances to move the chains early in the game. A critical drop and I think a critical missed PI were killers. Ty had immediate pressure on every pass(and did all game save a few plays). There is no magic playcall that offsets these things. The same Grubb offense put up 27(or 24 if you want to subtract 3 for the layup on punt muff) on the most disruptive and dangerous D in the country(with the best defensive coach).

I mean, talent manifests in different ways so its hard to say. Pure NFL talent...probably goes to Georgia. Talent in the way of smart, veteran plays who can easily make up for the slight disadvantages in pure athleticism...still could be Georgia too, but its likely IU.

There is a pick six in that score also. We adjusted some on offense during the game.

So, Indiana is like Vandy. Except the IU quarterback isn’t a massive douche like Pavia is.

I will be watching to see if IU players are getting hurt early in the game. It could be a result of the layoff or being unprepared for a physical SEC team. The OSU game was their Super Bowl. Deep down they know they can’t beat BAMA. We can’t give them any early hope.

They both have played a lot of football, won a lot of big games. I think Pavia is far more dangerous though against Bama's D
