Texas- how are the fans predicting the bowl against a train wreck program like UM to go?

Is this considered a blowout and taken for granted or does the fanbase and those well connected to the football program get the sense that the team will take this game very seriously? Michigan is a mess right now. Beat those quasi-elite pseudo-Ivy League elitists bastards

We will watch but not a ton of care here.
We have double digit opt outs already and after the majority of our fanbase feels we got screwed for the last spot in the playoffs this game doesn’t really matter at all

TU players have checked out, over half the starting defense and several offensive starters are not playing. Pretty crazy given there hasn't been a coaching change which usually brings out this type of response, lack of commitment it seems.

Fightin’ gomer pyles ought to worry more about Miami and less about big brother

Texas wins by 3.
Finishes #2 in the polls.

I can appreciate that there are opt outs and a disgruntled fan base leading to widespread apathy about this game.
At the same time it would be a slap in the face to lose to a team presumably in disarray as UM must be right now and let's be serious, it will be a long nine months before the orange faithful see their team on the field again.
Doesn't that count for anything?

It’s not crazy at all. Some are going to the nfl, others are getting a jump on NIL opportunities and the transfer portal. It’s the way of college football now. If you are a proven commodity and want more $$$ no reason to play in a meaningless bowl, just transfer to the highest bidder

It’s so odd, when Georgia had 12 starters sit out the sugar bowl your fans told us that that game mattered more than anything, that it was super important

This will be like the 3rd or 4th team Texas has faced without a coach.

That game was a few months into the transfer portal and pre NIL.
7 years later college football is vastly different. If you think January 2019 college football is the same as Jan 2026 college football you are living in another universe

It counts about as much as your bowl game against Navy did last year.

If Mich beats Texas Sark should be fired

Yeah it sucks. But the bright side is getting younger players involved and a head start for next year.

Sitting out and pouting isn’t good. Georgia learned that lesson the hard way. It was humiliating to lose to Texas. You won’t see that happening again

It is what it is… Texas fans will watch and root for their team.. a lot of new faces will get an opportunity to showcase themselves… the program itself is ramping up for 2026 and from all indications is attempting to make a big splash in portal to solidify what should be one of cfb’s more experienced and talented rosters coming in to 2026… we shall see… if a 9-3 season (while posting best record against top 10 teams in cfb playoff era) is a “down year” for Texas then we’re doing something right
But time to show…
