They play for each other and their school.
God bless these future warriors and God bless the USA.
We are watching the very best of our youth.
Go Army. Beat Navy.

These games are awesome, but they’re not all that’s left of college football.

Posts about playing for the love of the game and posts about the good ol' days sure are popular around here!
I, too, miss the days when the season was 12 games max, and my team might be on TV 3 or 4 times per season.

Way to somehow turn a positive post into something negative.
You must be a blast at a party.
Lastly, please go fvck yourself.

Slick ... this is in no way, shape, or form even how it works ON Active Duty. And trust me ... nobody in any squad, platoon, company or on up ever asked for a Great Edge Rusher as they were doing the daily grind of what it takes to keep a squad, platoon, or company moving.
Your post is like a Boomer. But your naivete makes me think Millennial. I dunno'. You understand very little. But you talk about it quite a bit.

Maybe I will ... and maybe I won't. But I'll have one thing over you.
I could, or not, have ate that theoretical bag of dicks WHILE ACTUALLY WEARING THE UNIFORM. And understanding how the system really works.
Just by your posts ? I know you never did.

Nice sentiment. Only downvoted for this….
This is the correct version… Go Navy. Beat Army.

I did not. Nor did I say that I did.
You sound like a miserable little twat.
Yes, I have immense respect for our military. Your post makes zero sense taking about active duty when I stated they play for each other and their school.
So again, eat a giant bag of dicks.

They do not. Understand a few things.
For the last couple decades, the Military Academies have let ball players OUT of their enlistments ... if they were able to play pro ball. So Question One ... why are we, as tax-payers, funding this ?
Now understand this ... every "ball-player" out there is a career-track officer. If you'd ever served a day in the military ? And you did not. You'd understand just how dangerous these gents - and now gals - are.
And now get this ... as ineffective as all West Point and Annapolis grads are ? Those that played ball are the worst. I marveled - being Army - at their fantastic PT scores and also need to nap throughout the entire day.
Trust me. No Academy Grad plays "for" their service academy. Not a one.

I also wore the uniform, Army to be exact. 1988-1992 active and in the ARNG until 2000. Spent most of my time, both active and guard as a 19K on the Abrams, starting off as a loader, then drive, gunner, and finally TC and platoon sgt. spent the last few years of guard duty commanding an M109. So, my whole military career was spent as part of a crew where everyone on the crew had a specific job they had to do in conjunction with everyone else doing theirs. You had to work as a team to be combat effective.
But before enlisting in the army, I played HS football, defensive end to be exact. Am while not on the level of college football, the concept of teamwork is the same. Everyone has a specific job to do an has to work together in order for the overall mission to be accomplished.
So while the person you’re berating may or may not know why it’s like to “wear the uniform, I do; both the uniform of a soldier and the uniform of a football player. And I’m here to tell you the lessons you learn on the football field do translate to a serve you well in the military.

You’re saying not one of these kids are playing for their academy?
That’s complete bullshite.
I hire a bunch of ex-military for my company and I’ve met a bunch of guys like you. They throw their service in your face while talking shite about it.
You sound truly awful.

They also don’t sniff national championships.
Fans could have players like that, but winning is more important so they sign (even pay) mercenaries instead and then bitch about them.
