I applaud Yormak. I have never understood why ND thinks they are above conference alignment. I'm 46 and don't recall in my lifetime why they would have this entitlement.
Honest question, can somebody make the case for why they think what they think? I remember a championship in the Holtz era and I know they have "history" but every major program for the most part does.

History (pre-90s), the NBC contract that allows them to remain independent and a media that gives them too much attention. They are a relic of the past that is allowed to live on. They sit like a remora on a struggling ACC getting the advantage of scheduling while keeping their money separate. It's not a very healthy situation but so far it's worked to their advantage.

I think that is a very fair summation. I guess congrats on their "Rudy" movie?
As a side note: Rudy came and spoke at my high school in the mid 90s. A fight broke out (large public school) during his presentation and he was scared. And yes, someone did yell during the assembly that he was off sides.

Maybe they can join the PAC 2 or whatever it is now. That or CUSA will take them. Their SOS will be about the same so they will be happy
