Nice!
Hard to believe Bama's got 4 though. Just doesn't seem real when you've been a fan for a while.
Hmm ... maybe Big12 board?
ETA: For my money, Herschel Walker is the top SEC player of all time. Should have won 2 of them.

I didn’t realize Bama didn’t have a Heisman winner until 2009.

Lot of Big 8 guys in that list beating top ranked Nebraska, Texas, and Colorado every year back then.

Interesting to see Georgia at the bottom of that list

I didn't start watching football until 78 (was into baseball mostly), so I missed Earl Campbell at Texas.
He was awesome with the Oilers though.

Our best candidates unfortunately have had stiff competition. For example, Vince Young would have been a shoo-in most years. Conversely, we’ve never had a JAG stumble into winning in a down year like Gino Toretta, Chris Weinke, Jason White, Eric Crouch or whoever wins this year.

Jason Whites Heisman year he put up incredible numbers and beat Alabama, UCLA, Texas, Missouri, Colorado, Oklahoma State, and Texas A&M that year. Not sure what more you're looking for.

I meant no offense to Jason White. He’s a deserving winner as are the others I mentioned, including Mendoza (likely) this year. My point was that they weren’t memorable players, beyond their own fan base, and they had little to zero NFL success. 20+ years later and nobody could pick Jason White out of a lineup. Non-winner Josh Heupel is a more memorable player.

Still hard to believe Darren McFadden didn't win in 2006. Gained over 1600 yds rushing on a 10 win team. Had over 200 yds against S. Carolina and supposedly Spurrier totally left him off his ballot.

Hard to believe Bama doesn’t have more.
Bart Starr, Kenny Stabler, Joe Namath?
No Heisman at all until Mark Ingram?
There was some SEC bias going on for sure.

Oh I agree with that. Both of Jason Whites knees were shot by the end of the year. The Heisman is a regular season award. The votes were already casted before the Big 12 title game was even played.
You're right if they waited until after Josh Heupel would have won it over Chrie Weinke whom he beat in the NC game.

Also Adrian Peterson should have won it also but back then they didn't want to give the award to a Freshman.
