How did the major conferences ever agree to let Sun Belt and American conferences in CFBP

Why aren’t we just watching the best 12 teams? The fact that we are discussing Tulane and James Madison being in the playoff is effing stupid. And we are supposed to have allegedly intelligent folks running this thing? 2 wasted spots.

Duke and Indiana in the CFP.

What’s next, LSU in the bball NCAA tourney?

This is a sick CFP process and we are watching a bad product.

Because Americans love the underdog story

If they expand the playoffs, which they did, you need the opportunity for the underdog story

It’s what makes the NCAA tournament so amazing and so watched by so many

Lifting up the whole sport, not just a few, I’ve got no issue with it. Do they have any chance to win a championship, one out of 100,000 or less who knows, but who cares I don’t if you’re not good enough to make it into the top 10 out of the power four you don’t deserve to be there anyway anyways.

This is what I don’t understand. How can you classify the best as power 4 and have JMU in the discussion. They need to fix this shite bad.

Because if they didn't, there would be a massive anti-trust suit which the power conferences would most certainly lose. Also, the NCAA, where blue bloods are outnumbered by everyone else by 3 to 1, would never sign off on it.

Neither one of those teams should be in the playoffs. Nobody wants to see a guaranteed first round blowout let alone two first round blowouts. Enough with participation trophies. They are not worthy.

The G5 conferences represent a substantial amount of teams, close to half of college football teams. If you want a fair balanced playoff, you have to let them have some kind of representation, just like every sport. Cutting them out and not allowing them to have some kind of access to the playoff $$$ would not look good...

That said, James Madison is only in because the ACC Champion has 5 losses...

If you honestly look at the bracketing it is still a four team playoff.

Burning a CFP spot on a G5 team is retarded.

Let them have their own bracket and sort it out among themselves. A G5 #12 pity seed will make it out of the first round maybe once every decade.

Save Cinderella for the one with the orange bouncy thing and the squeaky shoes.

I don't think so. A high school can't sue the mlb for not letting them in the playoffs. And the NCAA still doesn't operate the college football playoffs.

And the reason aTm baws support the expanded field comes into focus.

Last year Georgia and Tennessee got destroyed in the first and second rounds so....

May as well give the little guys a shot instead of 6 SEC teams that don't deserve it.

Some of yall need to understand what you’re arguing about before you argue. Duke is NOT in the CFP. They are not one of the 5 highest rated conference champions.
