I want to see big out of conference games but the committee is telling us its bad for playoff chances. Here's what I would like to see.

Auto Bids
SEC 4 teams
Big10 4 Teams
ACC 2 Teams
Big 12 2 teams
Group of 5 2 Teams
remain 2 by some metric that rewards beating good teams.

This would allow big out of conference games without effecting your playoff chances. Texas is punished for playing OSU and it cost them a playoff spot.

How it would work in the sec.
Regular season top 2 teams get in and still play for conference champ.
2 play in games 3vs6 4vs5

What do you guys think?

Need to expand to let more unworthy teams compete for a championship so their feelings don’t get hurt

it never shouldve expanded past 8.

teams with more than 1 loss are a dime a dozen and it makes it too political and expansive

I’d say to keep only one G5 team but I agree it should go to sixteen.

(5) SEC (last bid goes to a team that wins a play-in game

(5) BIG ten (Same as above)

(2) Big XII

(2) ACC

(ND if they qualify)

Higher rated G5

*If ND fails to qualify then the highest rated remaining team outside the bubble, regardless of conference affiliation

People said the playoff would devalue the regular season, but it really hasn’t. Guaranteeing power conferences a specific number of spots absolutely would though.

The ACC might not get any teams in and you want to guarantee them 2 spots?? 4th best B1G team is USC with 3 losses and 0 ranked wins. Only 4 SEC spots means that OU is out if Bama wins the conference title.

We have only had the 12 team playoff for 2 years after 10 years of the 4 team playoff and 16 years of the BCS. Maybe gather more data points before making drastic changes.

It should be cut back to 8. Teams 9-12 have zero chance of winning the NC no matter which teams are in or left out.

It's devalued those two ND losses and Miami's win over ND

12 teams but determined by a viable strength of record formula.

It's never about who wins or loses. It's about how much TV and streaming revenue can be made for the conferences and the NCAA. We as fans don't fricking count. It's becoming a big club like the NFL and we fans are not in it.

LESS TEAMS, NOT MORE. Conference champs, g5 champs, and 2 wilds. 8 teams.

It needs to go one of two ways.

Form a super conference with the B1G and the top 12 go to the playoffs. Or, return to smaller conferences and meaning the SEC and B1G get rid of teams who weren't in 20 years ago. That would be my choice.

Texas and Aggy along with SMU, TCU join to form a new SWC. Make the Pac 12 great again.

Make Notre Dame join a conference.

There won't be a team who isn't from the SEC or B1G win a natty. All these other conferences like the ACC, AAC etc, aren't winning a natty these days. It's a waste of time. Look what Georgia did to TCU.

6 is the optimal number with a purely mathmatical equation for who gets the 2 byes. But that's less revenue so it won't happen.

Keep it at 12.

The top 12 get in. Period. No selection committee and all that BS.

Everyone wants to cry about being left out. The CFP isn't the damn NCAA tournament.

No. And 8 would be the correct number.

No, it's not. If anything the playoff field should shrink, not expand.

Texas is being punished for losing to Ohio State, Florida and Georgia. No other playoff or bubble team has 3 losses. Im not sure why were at the point where people are trying to argue that a 9-3 team deserves to play for a national championship.

No auto bids. They are what has the 12 team playoff so fricked up. Get rid of this stupid committee and go back to the BCS model and eliminate all auto qualifiers; legit top 12 teams only and no group of 5 bull shite. No need to over complicate it.
