…the SEC. First of all, expansion is bullshite. So let’s get that out of the way. If we must expand, I think UNC is our best option. Brings a new contiguous state, it’s a good school, and has a good overall athletic program. I don’t understand the Clemson addition at all. FSU is a better brand and we could lock down the state of Florida like we have with Texas. Would rather have FSU.

I respectfully disagree. With the team selection, not expansion. I think we’ve got enough.

We all know football is king. If expansion has to happen, the only ACC team that has won shite in football over the last 20 years is Clemson. UNC Is the one that makes zero sense to me. If you tap the ACC for two more teams, it should be Clemson and FSU. FSU mostly just to have another big brand team in Florida.

As much as most Gamecocks don't want to admit it. Clemson to the SEC makes our schedule much easier by them becoming one of our permanent opponents. And us adding an easier OOC. UNC would quickly become our #2 rival. I despise them.

It doesn't make much difference.

Might actually be beneficial for us in a way. They are a big fish in a small pond, currently. I don't see why the SEC would add them though. What do they bring that's new?

The most terrified of Clemson joining is all the farm animals across the SEC. Those people in the upstate ain't right

We should boot the gamecocks and Mizzou to make room. Shane Beamer should be coaching in the SoCon and USC won’t get rid of him.

This is me. I mean, I hate Clemson and want bad things for them, always. But we play them every year regardless. If they are a conference game, the 9 game SEC schedule doesn't impact us at all.

UNC is a poor addition because they don't make any sense culturally. I get the flagship arguments, but NC State is a better fit for the conference for a host of reasons. No matter what, UNC or NC State are outposts.

I agree with some of the sentiment in this thread. If UNC is added, they're immediately our No.2 rival. There's a true hatred for those asshats.

My preference, if ACC expansion absolutely has to happen, is FSU and VaTech. But I think that's the longest shot.

It should be UVA and UNC if we add anyone. Biggest schools in none occupied states. I don’t want FSU or Clemson.

UNC and Virginia are the top choices. We want THE top state universities, not the add ons. Actually, if the Big 10 adds two more, we could add UVA, UNC, FSU, and Clemson.

When you play a team anyway, might as well be in conference and picking up UNC as a regular rival is good for them.

Stoking regional rivalries that are all close by are great for football as the game has high local interest and in many cases you use $2k a day buses vs $1m jets for travel to full stadiums.

We love adding Clemson at UGA as they are close and there is long history, really better than USC for us.

We play clemson every year anyway and to heck with the Tarholes.

I'm opposed to them joining because we just got the schedule worked out and expansion would screw it up again.

I have always said this and not sure why so many want UNC. It would be like adding Mizzou to the conference from a culture standpoint. Those wanting UNC to have never been to a UNC football game is my guess. Also, NC State has bigger alum in Charlotte and the Triangle which are the two largest TV markets.

VT I would also take over UVA. VT has a huge alum base in the DMV area which controls the major TV markets in that region of Baltimore, DC, and NVA.

Just because LSU doesn't play men game basketball don't mean we wouldn't be happy to bring in a blue blood

actually have wanted the orangenecks in the SEC since the 2012 expansion -

the Bobby Bowden path to 11 & 12 wins the ACC provided afforded Sweenie the only avenue that program could win the games in the regular and post-season it did until 2020 -

a lot USC fans really only wanted Climp to suffer from a financial aspect - which the Newspring private equity fund circumvented anyways -
