LIFE involves reality and we all have different perspectives on that. That's why we have forums like this. Just so happens differing opinions are what make debate so enjoyable..

While it is 100% true that Texas played 5 Top 40 opponents according to FEI, all 5 of those opponents are currently in the Top 13.
Alabama 2-1 vs Top 13
Texas 3-2 vs Top 13
Both had a bad Florida loss on the road.
Texas also only had 1 home game between 9/20 and 11/20.. on 11/1 vs Vanderbilt.

Texas fans are only using the Bama argument due to the "Florida loss" argument. Florida kicked the shite out of FSU (who bama lost to by multiple scores). In reality if there is one team that doesn't belong, it's Notre Dame.

Texas friendlies in the media (ESPN) keep threatening the CFB world with never playing Ohio State again if they don’t get in the playoffs.
Who cares? Seriously no one cares. Do what you have to do. If the SEC conference will always generate two losses or more then by all means go schedule Sam Houston, UTEP and San Jose State plus Kansas.
Other schools will continue to schedule i treating games as they see fit. Texas A&M vs ND was a compelling and thrilling night game in week 4. It had playoff implications that early.

This is such a silly take. If Texas is 10-2 they are in and we all know it, partially for reasons yall hate (Texas is a media darling and gets views).
A top 40 team isn’t the same as a top 15 team, which Texas played 5. Take the Vandy game out and Texas went 2-2 against the top 8 teams in the country, again significantly more difficult than a top 40 team

Who cares? Advertisers care. I worked in advertising for over a decade, trust me they care about the eye balls being drawn and there’s a massive difference in product and viewership between Texas vs Kansas’s and texas vs Ohio state.
1) other teams already don’t schedule so marquee matchups are a premium in OOC
2) if Texas starts pulling them you think other programs who historically schedules marquee games are going to keep scheduling them when the committee just showed us they have more risk than reward?

If Texas was 10-2 with the same FL and GA losses they'd be seeded between 6-8 in the CFP.
I have no problem with Texas not being in the CFP, I think they've been too much of a Jeykl and Hyde team all year and so no idea which team would show up. But no one is going to convince me that OU is an 8 seed and better than Texas because their record is 10-2. And obviously A&M isn't a better team either.
It's a beauty contest and the only way to move past this crap every year is to break into divisions and adopt an NFL-type model for playoffs.

Shot the bed against UF with our lock down corner out and you getting your best wr weapon, it was a terrible combo.
If you watch our games teams don’t even through at Manny Mohammed (corner that was out). Doesn’t matter but it’s funny OU fans whine that mateer (who played) against Texas was a reason they lost but our best corner who was out and replacement got torched is not a valid excuse…
