I thought the national consensus was that no way the Ole Miss AD could let Lane Kiffin coach the playoffs after he took the LSU job, Keith Carter has to live in Oxford for crying out loud.

So why did they beg Charlie Weiss, Jr to stay and coach their offense after he has accepted the OC job at LSU?

Go ahead and explain the hypocrisy.

Has he signed his contract or just a terms sheet?

Because outside of a minority, nobody really recognizes or cares that much about a coordinator as opposed to a nationally recognized HC?

Because Lane is a toxic distraction that handled the whole thing poorly.

Weiss hasn’t been fired by Saban during the playoffs for not being professional enough to finish out his current gig while being one foot out the door for his new gig

Would you feel better if he stood in a press confence and said, "You want me to say, then I'll say it. I'm not going to be the head coach at LSU".

Please tell me the correct way to handle leaving Ole Miss. He got them through the regular season with as little distraction as possible. The media built the firestorm.

Is Ole Miss not concerned about Weis Jr trying to recruit Ole Miss offensive players to transfer to LSU with him?

Guess Keith Carter thinks Charlie Weiss was the actual brains behind the operation. Have fun paying Kiffin all that money once Charlie leaves.

The real answer is Charlie is a high character guy that isn't going to be doing shady stuff in our building and I think they believe he will actually be focused on game planning, watching tape etc... Charlie also didn't threaten the AD and chancellor.

term sheet with a 5.7 million penalty if he isn’t LSU OC next season, that’s per the BR newspaper

The obvious answer is they think Weiss coaching them in the playoffs gives them a better chance at winning and they don’t think the same thing about Kiffin. Do with that what you will.

Because Lane Kiffin has never run a competent offense without Charlie Weiss, Jr?

Man, what was Nick Saban thinking hiring Kiffin to run his offense for all of those years?

I’m not trying to troll or sound like an arse but how legally binding is a terms sheet vs a true contract?

Lane was advised several weeks ago he wouldnt be coaching OM in playoffs if he was going to accept LSU offer. Lane’s decision.

LSU fans are really starting to feel the hate from the country about how their school and their coach handled the situation. Imagine being this insecure(and pay so much) over a guy who has constantly jumped from team to team or been fired before he could do it

I don’t believe one bit Lane threatened anything unless you’re AD comes out and says that. Lane was just being brutally honest. If you let him coach through the playoffs, that means he can’t be taking the coaching staff with him at that time to LSU. Which gives you a much better chance to win the playoff. If you don’t let him coach then he says OK well, I have to leave right now then. which in turn means I’m going to have to start building a staff, which is not going be good for Ole Miss. Because he clearly wanted to bring some of his guys with him. And he has every right to hire whoever he wants. I’m sure that sounded like a threat in y’all’s mind, but that’s just fricking honesty.

But yet you want the current LSU OC to coach your team in the playoffs. Hypocrisy on display.

No, it's Keith Carter's decision. I'm not saying it's wrong, but Keith Carter chose to not let Kiffin coach the playoffs. But sure, he'll allow the LSU OC to coach the Ole Miss team in the playoffs.
