Bama just announced they are moving their USF game to 2032 and replacing this Chattanooga and east Carolina.

Smart move and thanks playoff committee for allowing teams to skate by with terrible SOS and rewarding with a playoff spot.

Kirk H tweet
“ Get ready to see this happen all over the sport. If it’s only about how many wins ya have and not who you’re playing and where you’re playing you’re gonna see every AD make these same moves. Kiss meaningful non conference games in late August and early September goodbye. Cupcakes”

Some really smart people predicted this, when the NPC commentary was the opposite

If you're in the B10 or SEC, you simply can't schedule a team OOC that could possibly beat you. There is nothing but downside risk.

I bet if the committee meetings were streamed or televised live the voting would be much different.

Blame Indiana and the many other cupcakes for doing this for years. Our coach and admin was too proud to cancel until it will likely bite them in the arse this year.

You scheduled Baylor and 3 nobodies so you Auburn can sit this one out

I get this isn't a pressing issue for a team that hasn't sniffed the playoffs, but it's actually pertinent for lots of SEC programs.

Yes, anyone who has Ohio State and Notre Dame on their schedule 4 times over the next 5 seasons is truly a coward

What’s shameful is being the 4th or 5th best team in your OWN state!

Revenue sharing will go away in a few years if things don't change.

Auburn has an upcoming home and home with Notre Dame and then a home and home with Miami. We don't have to sit anything out.

Not to mention we have the toughest SEC slate almost every year.

You get those games during the CFP. Why play them during the regular season if it is only a risk? If you do play a ranked OOC opponent during the regular season and lose you are forbidden to use it to justify why you should make the CFP.

The dumfuk committee did this, not Bama. They told everyone that SoS was an important metric, then someone looked at NDs schedule and went "oh shite".

Who was abysmal but good for bama for trying. Just saying this is about to start getting ugly with OOc games moved and rescheduled or canceled

If I am an AD at a tier 1 SEC school all of my OOC games would be against teams like Jackson State, Buffalo and the like. 9 SEC games is enough. No need under this system to schedule tough OOC games.
