While happy we got Kiffin, no one can think this is good for college football...

In chasing the almightly dollar, college football has reaped what it has sewn. The game will never be the same, sad.

I fully agree. I can’t believe we’re seeing a coach leave his 11-1 team prior to the playoffs where he has a chance to win the national title.
Something is messed up with this structure

He’s not chasing the dollar anymore. He’s chasing the legacy. Grow a clue dude. Are you a fan or not?
If private donors give, then let them give. Who cares.

This is one of the worst things that could happen to college football. Completely further endorses the NIL and transfer portal era. If coaches get to behave like Kiffin then why dont the players? Get ready for further destruction of the sports with even more transfer portal madness and even higher NIL for players. Like always, the fans are the ones who feel the destruction.

When he does the same to us dude, will you feel the same ?

This the best thing that could happen. It will force the NCAA/CFP to change their calender.

Random fact: Brian Kelly actually made 23 million per year when you factor in his salary paid, years coached and the buyout.

the main thing I am seeing is the complete elimination of loyalty. no player loyalty, no coach loyalty. nothing. and the end result of that if we are not careful is the end of FAN loyalty. this sport could cannibalize itself.

Probably not they’re powerless in many ways and this is one of the ways they can try to reassert their Byzantine rules

Don't have a stupid gigantic playoff then and Kiffin would be leaving under normal circumstances before the bowl game
Ole Miss wouldn't be in the BCS national championship game or the 4 team playoff. ESPN has forced cfb to go full retard with its postseason

they all do, its just that Lane likes to be Lane.
Once Sexton had like 2/3 of the coaches in his agency, it became stupid. And coaches dont even have to honor a contract, but Universities do????? Coach recruited kids, then left 2 days later and were expected to honor their commitment.
CFB has become and ugly sport.
the Big boosters will get bored with NIL, and the shite ROI, and CFB will be in trouble, Athletic departments will have huge holes, and still owe coaches 10's of millions, and no one to help pay it.

Something needs to change immediately. This whole system of agents & backroom deals & trying to leverage more money every year by throwing your name out there for other jobs & $50m-$100m buyouts. It's just ugly & gross .

play4ers can leave a school after one year. and they get paid too. this is the new college football. once they started paying players it went to shite!

It’s ultimately the fault of the fans, though they never want to admit it. They facilitate it all.
Fans have zero tolerance for losing and would rather sign talented mercenaries and win than loyal talent and lose.
You want a player with…
1. NFL ability that can win championships.
2. A legitimate academic purpose.
3. Would storm Omaha Beach for your school.
4. Is content with a scholarship while everyone around him makes millions in a multibillion dollar entertainment industry.
If fans didn’t have such a perverse obsession with what is supposed to be an extracurricular activity at an institution of higher learning, maybe students who are actually enrolled to get an education could play and there wouldn’t be all this shite.
