For the first time in his tenure, I’m not happy with Carter. This is a bitch arse move that will set us back even further

This is our fricking head coach now.

I’m about to start donating to NIL. Got some student loans paid off and it’s time. This situation has me fired up. If you are pissed off at KC for the way he handled this then you probably love Freeze or something

Nobody was seriously considering or wanting Hugh Freeze back.

Carter. Hiring Golding is a fricking stupid and bitch move

What I found out today was that Golding was doing almost 100% of our recruiting this year. Hopefully this turns out to be closer to a Kirby Smart hire than a Matt Luke hire. I'm not super excited about it but will give the man a chance. I understand that this was also done so we have a permanent HC to get us through the playoffs and prevent some retribution by the CFP committee.

Pete Golding has been doing HC duty why Kiffin has been being a drama queen.. He has earn the right to be HC in my eyes. Way more then a Matt Luke hire..

It was either him or Judge getting the job. If you wanna blame anybody for this shite show it’s Kiffin not Keith. Keith was basically forced to hire from within or risk missing the playoffs.

Interim sure, but permanent HC? That's retarded

No HC experience and as a DC our defense hadn't been great.

So we are hoping that he magically can coach on a level to keep us going at 10-11 wins per season?

Obviously that's not realistic so what are we expecting 7-5 or 8-4 seasons out of him?

Would 7-5 or 8-4 be considered good next year or would we be looking for a new coach?

Honestly, it makes sense. TPTB hoping we catch lightning in a bottle twice with fruit from the Saban coaching tree. Can also sooth the hurt of money folks that want someone who has MS roots (DSU alum with stops at DSU and USM).

What would you do? Watch KC do a one month coaching search meanwhile players leave, coaches abandon, get turned down 57 times to end up with a mediocre hire mostly out of pressure

Anyone that has this as a qualifier for their head coach can go suck a fat cock and swan dive into an empty pool.

It’s a bad thing because why exactly? I wouldn’t be surprised if there are donors who feel played because they went all in for Lane just for him to bolt when they were about to get the best ROI. They may want someone who will appreciate when they throw big money around instead of looking at us as a stepping stone or leverage for negotiations.

Because it is literally irrelevant.

The best coach we’ve had since Vaught had 0 connections to the state.

You can get that without the “he has to love and have roots in Mississippi!”

Matt Luke loved the frick out of Mississippi. Look where that got us

Luke was a lazy and bad OL coach. Pete is neither of those things.

Who would you have hired?
